    before the axle turn downs

I've got the same problem of no space for over the axle. Turn downs are at an angle, which helps. Wish Dynomax made Ultra-Flo's like that but maybe they wouldn't Flo so Ultra, then.

    Header Gaskets....

Those are both for later Magnum 318's. Take a closer look at this page and be sure of what you actually have in your car. If it's a '65 273 then you need the 6016. Remflex Chrysler page 2: V8

    Pypes custom exhaust

With the tri-y's, I run Race Pros, X-pipe, and no tail pipes. Tried the Violators but didn't care for the tone. Both are straight through designs, while the Street Pro is a little different. The tone with an H-pipe might be a little deeper, which would be nice. I like the SS construction and how...

    exhaust coating options

If you want to DIY it you can use Cerakote Chromex but they to have tumbled or polished because they come out of the oven looking like they went it - flat.

How do I fix a cracked exhaust manifold on my 6 cylinder 225 engine?

If you don't feel replacement is an option and you're a DIY kind of guy, it might be worth checking these guys out: https://www.muggyweld.com/

Pypes Race Pro vs. Violator video and ride along

Installed "correctly" it sounds even rattier. Quite honestly, after a couple of days of driving around I think I prefer the Race Pros. IMO, at anything less than cruise speed the Violators sound like a clapped-out Chevy with bad mufflers. Both muffs flow the same so it just comes down to sound...

Pypes Race Pro vs. Violator video and ride along

NOTE: This was recorded with a GoPro Hero 2 and external mic. These cameras have a documented problem when recording low frequency sounds (like exhaust and car interiors). They can't handle it and add a distinct pop/click/crackle noise to the audio - very annoying! It is not part of the exhaust...

    Anybody running PYPES Violator?

Not to hijack but I just ordered a pair of Violators to try in place of the Race Pros and will post comparisons if anyone is interested.

    Anybody running PYPES Violator?

What kind of sound are you after? I'm running an Pypes x-pipe system with Race-Pro muffs that dump at the axle. Violators are supposed to be their loudest because they have no packing. Thinking about trying a set and I understand some guys like the sound of them better installed backwards...

    schumaker creative service headers

I'll add that my experience is with their BB headers. Cannot comment on the SB units.

    schumaker creative service headers

Lot's of folks use them (including me). They solve some issues when doing BB swaps into A-Body cars. They perform quite well, especially on a street driven car, at the expense of a few 10th's in the quarter mile. Fitment is excellent. A good step up from stock manifolds, unless you need a full...

    What kind of header gaskets??

Remflex makes a great gasket designed to conform to any surface irregularities and won't blow out.

    Header trouble.

    Those'll work fine.
  18. 70Duster440

    Header trouble.

You could use the fancy studs if you want or the regular course/fine black ones you can get at your hardware store along with grade 8 nuts/washers. Either way you'll eliminate messes. The Remflex gaskets work really well for sealing irregularities.

    DIY Exhaust coatings

For those who like to take a DIY approach or save some bucks, I have some Schumacher headers that started as plain steel. Years ago I applied a coating called ColorGard from Techline. Was never really impressed with how it looked and ultimately the finish got damaged. So this time I tried...

Pypes A body exhaust or Summit Which one should I choose?

I put on a Pypes system with Race Pro muffs. The sound is nice under normal conditions but has a nice, loud bark when you get on it. Didn't use the tail pipes and this is hooked up to Schmacher (shorty) headers. Pics on my site. Idling video here: Preston Herrick's 1970 Big Block Plymouth...

Anyone using , or have an opinion on the Pypes SS exhaust

I've got a Pypes system (without the tails installed) with Race Pro muffs. Sounds healthy at idle and nasty when you really get on it. I adapted it to Schumacher headers: http://70duster440.com/exhaust.html YouTube - Preston Herrick's 1970 Big Block Plymouth Duster Exhaust YouTube...

What headers for 440 A body

I'd say the least fuss award would go to Schmacher (link above). But if they gotta be full length headers then, TTI. You may encounter clearance issues with the TTI's.

    Anybody use Pypes X pipe

I went with their x-pipe with Schumacher headers. No cutout but because it it comes in pieces I was able to fab headpipes to joint it that tuck up very nicely and fit the trans crossmember.
