I've got the same problem of no space for over the axle. Turn downs are at an angle, which helps. Wish Dynomax made Ultra-Flo's like that but maybe they wouldn't Flo so Ultra, then.

Those are both for later Magnum 318's. Take a closer look at this page and be sure of what you actually have in your car. If it's a '65 273 then you need the 6016. Remflex Chrysler page 2: V8

If you want to DIY it you can use Cerakote Chromex but they to have tumbled or polished because they come out of the oven looking like they went it - flat.

Installed "correctly" it sounds even rattier. Quite honestly, after a couple of days of driving around I think I prefer the Race Pros. IMO, at anything less than cruise speed the Violators sound like a clapped-out Chevy with bad mufflers. Both muffs flow the same so it just comes down to sound...

NOTE: This was recorded with a GoPro Hero 2 and external mic. These cameras have a documented problem when recording low frequency sounds (like exhaust and car interiors). They can't handle it and add a distinct pop/click/crackle noise to the audio - very annoying! It is not part of the exhaust...

Not to hijack but I just ordered a pair of Violators to try in place of the Race Pros and will post comparisons if anyone is interested.

What kind of sound are you after? I'm running an Pypes x-pipe system with Race-Pro muffs that dump at the axle. Violators are supposed to be their loudest because they have no packing. Thinking about trying a set and I understand some guys like the sound of them better installed backwards...

I'll add that my experience is with their BB headers. Cannot comment on the SB units.

Remflex makes a great gasket designed to conform to any surface irregularities and won't blow out.

Those'll work fine.

You could use the fancy studs if you want or the regular course/fine black ones you can get at your hardware store along with grade 8 nuts/washers. Either way you'll eliminate messes. The Remflex gaskets work really well for sealing irregularities.

I'd say the least fuss award would go to Schmacher (link above). But if they gotta be full length headers then, TTI. You may encounter clearance issues with the TTI's.

I went with their x-pipe with Schumacher headers. No cutout but because it it comes in pieces I was able to fab headpipes to joint it that tuck up very nicely and fit the trans crossmember.
