    Toasted transmission

All back together neighbor works for a local build shop. 20+ years he stopped and helped me. I had most of it assembled. But he said it turned good and no issues. It got a forward pattern manual valve body and new band, new support for rear and new output shaft and rear drum. I hope it holda...

    Toasted transmission

I don't know how I did it. When I built it I could have forgot to set band and left it tight. I'm going to assume heat did this. My donor supplied the parts and it's almost back together.

My 727 is toasted. Rear drum is cracked. I have a donor transmission mid 70s. The rear drum looks the same as mine but has 3 holes drilled into it. Are 727 parts interchangeable?

    no reverse

I do wonder doesn't first run off same band? Wouldn't that mean I'd be without first as well?

May need advice on 727 build

look for a 4 gear planet if you can. The springs is really how fast or slow they release. More springs faster less springs slower response rate. I believe im running 10 in mine. Talk with Fishy68 (Tracy) super nice guy and IMO a torqueflight guru. There are many others here good with them as well.

    Bolt access hole in axle

My axles are aftermarket but they dont have the hole in them to line up with the backing plate nuts. Would drilling one be an option here? Can barely get a wrench on them and not enough room for socket and properly torque them.

    Rear end swap help

Outside of an A body 8 3/4 or 8 1/4 what you find will need cut down. Though i know guys use the B body and run different offset. Look in the drivetrain section do a search your bound to find a ton of ideas. Yours is a 73 do you know if it is Small bolt pattern or Big? Since 8 3/4 were SBP.
