grille and tail interchange between 67 and 68 barracuda

I tried that swap on the grill, and found out that altho they look very similar, everything is just different enough that you more or less have to swap all or nothing. If you do that then yes, the 67 grill-works will fit into the 68 opening. So if you can get the parts for a good price, go for...

Okay, I know this is really minor, but.....

The bump is in fact the retaining anchor. When the parts are matched and new it works perfectly. But after 47 years, who can say. You may have to convince the tab to to a better job by studying how it works and helping it to do it's job. Or, like me; put a zip-tie on it, lol.

67 Barracuda Hood louvers - but actually real

The studs on mine were long enough that I just lifted them and cut holes in the hood underneath them. I think I got 3/8th inch all round. I think that mathed out to about 30 square inches or more. That was in the early 2000s

66 Barracuda Hood Buffeting at 70+ mph

On my 68 Barracuda,I raised the back and dropped the front, so now my car is like a wedge, forcing the air up and over. I was rolling down the intestate one time, at ~85, when a late model Corvette came blasting by. Hmpff, said I, I bet he has a radar detector. So I gave him some space...

Fabricating hood scoop and bad at math... any help?

I ran into that problem too so I just cut a hole in the hood and bolted on a aftermarket air filter housing, then sealed the carb to the underside of the hood. No scoop. I fitted an oiled cotton filter and done. My car ain't that fast tho...

    70 Dart Hoods

What I remember is that on My 340Dart the holes were nearer the back of the scoop; I could be wrong; but for sure they were bigger; they were huge to my 17 year old eyes. Also, IIRC they were centered in the scoop.

    Go or No Go? (Wing)

On a fastback yes I like the factory ones. On a notchie, not so much. But on your notch with those bigwheels, maybe a lil more rear altitude, and the factory wing would give her some attitude. I put those Swinger Foils on everything, lol. Winged Muscle cars were around long before ricers. Those...

    68 Barracuda Hood

Or you could do what I did; Remove the inserts and gaskets, and cut out all the parts that lie inside the stud-line, leaving some supportworks. Then elevate the inserts with spacers,(I used short sections of vacuum hose), and re-install the inserts without the gaskets. I got about a half inch...

‘67 Barracuda Reverse Bezels Don’t Fit

FWI 69 housings are not same as 67, and 68 didn't have back-ups down there. 67s will not fit on a 68 valance but 69s will.

    Seal between fender & apron?

I haven't stripped out that many cars but the ones I did, didn't have anything at all. When I bolted my fenders on, I installed a strip of closed-sell foam. I poked the bolts right thru it. That was 1999/~135,000 miles ago, and the 1968 fenders are still good there. She was my DD for many of...

    Unconventional First Gen Barracuda Stripes

I'm with this, and additionally IMO it could be at least 30 to 50% wider at the top edge of the fender, folded over the top and the front edge continuing at some shallow angle a bit further forward to join up with the hood, while the rear edge immediately takes a 90* off the fender to the hood...

'64-'66 Abody Cowl-How did Factory Make it Water Tight?

maybe so but just to the outboard of the stacks are drainage channels that dump behind the fenders, or on some models there are vents in the firewall. Those channels get plugged with all manner of detritus.

How much does a hood scoop actually help?

I didn't bother with a scoop for my streeter, which seldom sees over 65mph. But I bought a nice oval aluminum air cleaner housing and mounted it on top of the hood, between the inserts.

How much does a hood scoop actually help?

    And it's about getting the carb out of the oven I upjetted a full size, front and rear, after cutting the hole, and sealing the carb to the underside. A full size; isn't that like 2000ft ? Anyway, that's what sucking hot underhood air cost me;

    Formula s badges on a 67 Barracuda

Same as Duster/Demon; 275s look small in there,295s fit with careful fitment, 325s with a little massaging, spring relocation, and a narrowed rear so you can put a deep-dish wheel in there again.
