    1970 Duster starter

the only way I can see to be able to use stock starter would be to install starter first, then the header! I have tried to put the stock starter in with header in place and there ain't no way it will slide thru there! Period! I went ahead and ordered the one from Ebay! thanks for info! Bill
  14. Bills70

    1970 Duster starter

so you are saying that this starter will slide in using TTI header in place?
  15. Bills70

    1970 Duster starter

this might be why I have always owned a Chevy! I should be able to just lower header to use stock starter, but I will buy a mini starter to see if it works!
  16. Bills70

    1970 Duster starter

I am installing my TTI headers and I am having problems installing my stock starter back in the car with the header on the engine. Is there a mini starter out there that will work or am I stuck with having to remove header every time I need to replace starter?

    1970 Duster Distributor

my problem is that I need to raise engine 1/4" per TTI header instruction from the 5' to 5 1/4" from top of k-member to C/L on cranks shaft. I am not sure it will hit then either but I am pretty sure I will not be able to pull distributor out, with out great difficulty!

  24. Bills70

    1970 Duster

these are TTI headers and they have a removable tube on drivers side to clear bar, won't they just install from underneath car? but, if I have to lay them in engine bay first, I guess I will have to put some blanket down to keep from scratching paint.
  25. Bills70

    1970 Duster

Ok! I will put them together but can't I just do it on my two post lift or would it be "easyer" on jack stands? I bought this tool to help put the engine/tranny combo in car! her is a picture of engine also, it dynoed at 435.9 HP at 5800 rpm and had 450 TQ.

now that that you made me look at it better I see that that rubber mounts are below those mounts, thanks, do you know buy looking at the picture if they are in correct position or do I have to switch them? I feel kind of stupid for not noticing that to begin with.
  27. Bills70
