    Adjusting rear after spring relocation?

Thanks. That sounds like a good way to adjust. Make different size bushings to tune it right in. Jack

    Adjusting rear after spring relocation?

True, but I don't want to turn my frame box into Swiss cheese. Jack

    Adjusting rear after spring relocation?

I am about to relocate my springs into the frame. I am using a kit from RMS. I understand how to install the kit but I do have 1 question. After installation which I am going to get as square as possible which is never perfect. How do you adjust the rear to get it perfect? With the stock mounts...

What did I do wrong? FIXED IT!!

It was happy motoring for about an hour. I blew my torque converter when I decided to show off and limped home with my tail between my legs. Not a real big deal but the tranny had to come out again. Ended up with a crack in it that was spilling fluid. It is getting rebuilt and will be going back...

What did I do wrong? FIXED IT!!

I rebuilt the old pump and all is well in Demon country again. I did some comparing of the 2 pumps I had and there were some not so easy to see differences but it looks like they were important. I installed new bushings, rings, gaskets and thrust washer. Thanks for all the help guys, as usual...

What did I do wrong? FIXED IT!!

I am leaning toward a stator support problem. Even though they look the same, have the same number of rings, I am still leaning there. The pump housing and stator support I used came from my previous tranny which was also a 727 that I blew up. It has sat for 4 years and although I think it looks...

What did I do wrong? FIXED IT!!

The odd thing is that the tranny worked perfect before I took the pump out. I looked at the old pump casing today and I was lucky I did this when I did. The front bushing was in really bad shape. I will read tonight and test tomorrow. Jack

What did I do wrong? FIXED IT!!

I took it apart today and checked everything I could think of. Everything looks as it should. No broken or cracked rings. Everything was clocked correctly. Bushings look great. I guess I am in for some heavy reading tonight. Jack

I used just enough rtv to hold it in place while I installed the pump. Jack

What did I do wrong? FIXED IT!!

Is it possible to install the pump cover on the housing wrong and that effect the engaging of the forward gears? As far as the rest goes, remember I only took the pump out and adjusted the front band. So any problem should be related to that area. If the converter is not seated properly I...

What did I do wrong? FIXED IT!!

I just finished putting my 727 tranny back in the Demon. It will not go into any forward gear. Here is what I did. I took the tranny out to replace a noisy pump and front seal. Other than that the tranny worked fine in all gears. When I replaced the front seal I also installed my other...

I have somebody local that is interested in my 360. He wants to know if the AMC tranny he has will bolt up to the small block Mopar. Lets assume it is for an AMC small block. Anybody know? Jack

    9.25 Rear ?

I looked at doing a 9 1/4 swap into the Demon when I was building it. It is a stout enough piece but the cost was going to be about the same as tracking down a 8 3/4 so I went that route. Jack

looking to upgrade the 727. Suggestions?

I don't think there is anything wrong with your plans. Make sure that any valve body you put in it has low band apply. I don't know anything about Cope's convertors but if they are as good as their tranny's then it should be good. Jack

    Weird 727 problem

Do not start the car!!!!! That adjustment is critical. If the square adjuster is rounded, you will have to make a tool that will fit on your torque wrench and fit on the adjuster. Better yet, get a new adjuster. This adjustment has to be right. As said earlier, your transmission won't last very...

    Balancing a T/C

How do they balance a T/C? And who can do it? The reason I ask is, I will probably soon have a T/C that was behind a 340 and I want to put it behind a externally balanced 360. Jack
