1973 Dart Swinger Pro Touring Build

This is nice. I like it! One of the cleaner looking restomod builds. Kind of what I'm doing to my Duster. Following!

    Hello from ia

Sounds like a plan, that's kind of what I'm doing right now. For now I'm running a 1990 Rollercammed LA 360 (1989-1992 LA 360's were factory rollercammed) stock bore with about 10:1 compression with aluminum heads. I am currently, slowly assembling a 408 stroker based on a 2000's 5.9 magnum.

    Hello from ia

Welcome! Nice baseline! Now for your question. If it was me I would one of these things. Keep the 340, build it up and run it! Or keep the 340 by storing it and find a 89-92 LA roller or Magnum 5.9 & build it up nicely as a daily. Then slowly building up the 340. - 340's are gold nowadays. 5.2...

    Hello from Florida

Nice, that's a clean Ramcharger. Now you just need an A-body to pair with it.

    Hello from Florida

Hello from Utah, welcome to the madness! I've owned several of the 1980's Ram platform... 1983 Power Ram W150 1984 Dodge Ramcharger (Prospector III) And a 1988 Dodge Power Ram W150. I do miss 'em all, I'm planning on getting another truck from that era. I need a simple, reliable workhorse with 4...

    Alternator

As @67Dart273 stated. My 74's factory ALT was only rated about 40 amps. I'm currently using 60-65 amp Alternator (Oreilly's reman 1980's Dodge Ram's squareback) and my wiring is currently barely just adequate. Not sure what flavor of A-body you have, but I'm sure it was likely in the 40 amp...

    hello from utah

Look around for a yellow and black 74 duster which will be running very soon. There is another yellow duster around here as well but it is a 71 or 72 with some cancer on it. I did see a blue 73-76 duster at Tom's (NAPA) auto parts parking lot the other day.

So your saying I can get my stock Hyd. roller cam reground into around .480-.500 lift range? Wondering if that would be cheaper than buying a new $300+ hyd. cam...

    New guy saying hello.

I pretty much bought this thing in pieces. This is the only cancered out spot on the whole thing. Once everything is put together on this thing, I'm going to paint it myself. Just think I painted this motorcycle myself with HOK Tangelo Pearl.

    New guy saying hello.

Yeah that's true, but here's the deal I already have a free 727 rebuild kit (which I found in the back of a junkyard Ramcharger) it also has a no yoyo kit. The junkyard is selling ANY Tranny for $125.00 So I have several choices. A727 (Cheapest to rebuild) A904 (Less drag+not as cheap to...

    New guy saying hello.

Hey folks, new guy saying hello. A little about me: I just got back from a deployment with the Air National Guard, I'm a Gearhead, Geek, and Jack-of-all Trades. I'm a new father (son was born during my deployment). I'm a new owner of a 1974 Plymouth Duster 318. (Bonus money from my...
