    Quick connect steering wheel suggestions

I use this set up. Not a "quick connect" per se, but it works pretty good and certainly makes getting in and out of the car over the cage and seat a whole lot easier! Grant Anti-Theft Systems 2001

insurance for drag car with roll cage? Ont

I don't mean to hi-jack the thread, but I've tried to get insurance on my car and no one I've tried said two words about the roll cage. When they got the requisite engine pic and saw the nitrous solenoids.....the deal was off. Hagerty told me they won't insure anything supercharged, nitrous...

    Crankcase exhaust ventilation questions

Here's a pic of where I put my wide band. It is actually behind the evac tube as the tube enters the collector at an angle and protrudes in some as seen in the second picture. Seems to work.

Anyone running a th400 in their a body?

The Reid stuff is real nice! I started with a Quick Time bell (4L80 to Big Block Mopar)and it leaked like crazy as it was .006" off from side to side and it bolts to the cast pump surface which obviously isn't flat and will never seal (I was warned prior). The fluid crept right up the bolt and...

Anyone running a th400 in their a body?

I'm assuming you mean the 200-4R overdrive transmission and not the metric POS from the late '70's. It would certainly be less work to use one, but if you're talking 1,000+ hp, the longevity won't be that great and regular refreshing/inspection will be necessary even with all billet internals...

Anyone running a th400 in their a body?

Ok, to stay on track, here are a few pics of the underside of my car to show what I did to get a 4L80 to fit. I think the 80 is a little wider than the 400, so this may not be totally representative of what needs to be done to get a 400 in. Also, I had header and exhaust issues due to running...

Anyone running a th400 in their a body?

I did a 4L80E, but I would imagine a TH400 wouldn't be too much different. Yes, the tunnel requires modification as well as the crossmember. I hope you're running coil overs, because the cutting required on the crossmember really won't allow you to keep the torsion bars. I'll get some pics of...

    New motor/1050 dominator won't idle

I kinda think you're pushing past the needle and seats as well.

    New motor/1050 dominator won't idle

If you run the idle screw all the way in you will completely expose the transfer slots and start pulling fuel from the main circuit. No more than .020" of the transfer slot should be exposed. As stated earlier, check for vacuum leaks, float levels, fuel pressure and if you have adjustable air...

    Motorplate-Solid engine mounts question

Solid mounts or a motor plate with a stock tranny mount is the way to go if the car is street driven. With a midplate, the flexing of the frame over bumpy roads, curves and uneven surfaces will crack the bell of the transmission.

    tru trac or locker

When I ordered my S60 from Strange, they suggested the TruTrac over the locker for street use and I've got a bit more in my combo. 517" big block dyno'd 638hp 671tq without the spray. GM 4l80 with a brake and 3.73's in the 60 with 28-14.5/15 Quick Time Pro's out back.

    TTI collector clearance

Lol! Thanks! It's a street strip car and it won't pass inspection without an e-brake. The factory set-up just wasn't working with the cage, so I went the Lokar route. Anyway, I'm glad I could help!

    TTI collector clearance

I really have nothing in common with your set-up other than it's an a-body, I'm running a shield and I had collector clearance issues. First, let me start by saying that your endeavour will require some fabrication whichever route you choose to go. I personally would run a shield and not a...

    NHRA legal roll bars

It's not a Duster and it's a full cage, but here's a pic to give you and idea of the general set-up. The main hoop and rear bars will be the same on a cage or a bar. I used my buddy's shop to bend up the tubing and get it fitted real nice. You won't get that with a kit and yes, it must be cross...

    Engine balancing questions?

For balancing, the shop's going to need everything from the balancer to the flywheel/flexplate. Bring them the crank, pistons, rods, pins, rings, bearings, everything. All of this stuff will affect the bobweight and will need to be present to properly balance the rotating assembly. Most shops...

What the heck, another "what'll it run" thread

Skypower, I geared the car so I wouldn't run out of motor before the end of the track in 3rd gear. I could put some more gear in it, but I think I'd have traction problems with the amount of gear I'd need to keep it in the power range in 4th gear. The spread in the 4L80 is 2.48, 1.48, 1 and .75...

Hmmm, maybe I'm a little bit optomistic, but I was thinking top of the 9's....9.80ish. Although, bottom of the 10's will certainly put a smile on my face! Rumble, I'll give you a call when she comes home. I've got a few questions for ya in regards to the stock stuff I removed.

What the heck, another "what'll it run" thread

I know it's a hard thing to predict and there are many variables that will affect e.t., but I figured "what the heck" I'll post up and see what I get. My car's nearing completion, so here it goes. 1968 Barracuda fastback, mini-tubbed ladder bar car with 28-11.5/15's, Dana 60 with 3.73's, GM...

Just got my new engine off the dyno!

It was done by CME Engines in South Carolina. They told me that they are seeing 5cfm more blow by than they would like, but the pistons have a short skirt and a low tension ring pack, so they recommend a crank case evacuation system. They also said that if it is a problem they will take care of...

    Pro Parts Headers on a "B" block....Pics

Wow! Those are low, but I can see that they angle down a bit. Those pics really help me get an idea of how they will fit, so I thank you for them. I was a little concerned, but I've got no inner fenders, I'm using an engine plate and I've got manual rack and pinion, so I don't think I'll have...

Just got my new engine off the dyno!

I was originally just looking for a fresh block, but when I tallied up the cost to do it myself or have it done.....have it done won out by a cosiderable margin. I got it through CME Engines and they dyno'd it. It started out as one of their "crate engines, but I wanted just about everything...

    Pro Parts Headers on a "B" block....Pics
