    727 transmission fluid Collin lines

As long as it doesn't have a check valve the fluid doesn't really care what direction it goes as long as it goes through the cooler you're golden

    A904 Lockup Converter Won't Unlock

I was just saying about the bolts because it they are too long than can dimple the back of the convertor and cause problems. Hope you get it figured out quick and easy.

    A904 Lockup Converter Won't Unlock

Did anyone by chance use bolts on the flex plate that are too long?

    A904 Lockup Converter Won't Unlock

If the convertor clutch was truly lock-up all the time the car would stall when you can to a stop. Or stall as soon as you put it in gear.

    1970 904 Rebuild

    1970 904 Rebuild

Yes the TF-3 is the manual valve body so he would not use the part throttle kickdown. But you are correct it is a nice feature in the automatic for sure.

    1970 904 Rebuild

Don't know how far you are from me in Ohio but I have every tool you would ever need to do that job. I just retired as a Chrysler line tech after 37 years there. Did a LOT of transmission rebuilds to the point of hating them. Now I don't mind. Funny how not having to do something changes your...

    Do I have a sure-grip or not?

Interesting. Yeah I ran dirt pro stock and late model. Some people on this site don't understand the punishment a car goes though on dirt. Really one weekend it about equal to a year of drag racing. We don't get to take them apart after every race. Plus the on and off RPM's are killer.

    Do I have a sure-grip or not?

You would know that right away as soon as you tried to go around a tight corner.

    Do I have a sure-grip or not?

Where was that at? I raced dirt track in Pa and Ohio in the early 90's and Chevy differential were banded because they broke so many of them. I saw one come off while on the track and it went through the pits. Axle, brake drum, tire and all. Lucky no one got hurt but it did go into a trailer and...

    Do I have a sure-grip or not?

Same way, just put the transmission in gear so the pinion gear can't turn.

    Do I have a sure-grip or not?

    904 transmission fluid level

Well in my world I would not worry about that small amount at all. Many here will disagree, It will be fine. It's not enough to be a problem.

    727 ASSEMBLY GREASE QUESTION

Behind a mild 340 stock parts would be fine. That 727 is overkill for a 340 really. But a damn good transmission.

    727 ASSEMBLY GREASE QUESTION

If none of the parts stores have any transmission assembly grease you can use Vaseline. I have used it for years with no problem at all.

    Drive train not quite right

Yep get a good converter. Makes all the difference in the world. 3.23 gear? I'd say a 3000 stall but you never know until you put in there and see how she feels. Maybe a tight 3500?

    Another 727 converter Q

Also if you pull it out and find it is a reman converter it may not even have a lock-up clutch in it. I have seen them rebuilt with the clutch plate left out before.

    Another 727 converter Q

Why not just take the one you have to a transmission shop and have the ring gear replaced or have the converter rebuilt. It would be a lot cheaper than buying a new one. If you like the way it shifts and drives I wouldn't change the stall speed. As to answering your question, you can have a...
