    318 exhaust manifolds

I am about ready to take the polished TTI headers off of the Barracuda, and install a set of nice stock manifolds that I have put together. Part numbers are 2951123 and 2843953. They show to be for a 68/9 Dart, 318. I wonder why the listing shows a different part number on the Barracuda for...

They will fit the motor, but they are log type.

    Transmisssion braces needed?

Oh, and these braces are a very good indicator of the difference between a GM and a Mopar. My first new car was a Chevelle, and they only put two mounting bolts holding the carb to the intake. Two should do it, we can save the 7 cents! :D

    Transmisssion braces needed?

Welcome to Fabo! You are in the right place for answers. They are nice to have, kind of an insurance. But I have left them off of almost all of my builds, unless there was room for them. I had a low 10 second abody without them on, and never had a problem. If you can fit one side on, go...

Accurate LTD stainless exhaust tip review

I have those same tips on my car, that exact size. I have them mated to the TTI 2 1/2 inch exhaust and didn't have a stock tip to compare them to, so the difference was not obvious to me. I just cut the tail pipes off where they needed to be to work.

    TTI Now What

:toothy10: I have had mine 8 years, and driven less than two thousand miles. I would rather work on it, and I am in the process of building it's 4th motor now. :toothy10: Two 340s, a 318 and now a 360, maybe. Oh and my TTIs fit great, but I am getting ready to put power steering on it, so...

    Exhaust manifold helP!!

Yeah, at the time when I was putting a 340 in Dad's 65, I had three choices I was toying with. Spitfires, 68 340 Hp manifolds ( I had a set) and the 98 Durango magnum manifolds( I had a set). If you look at picture #20 here, sorry I don't have it saved anywhere else here at work. It is...

    Exhaust manifold helP!!

those might work, but I doubt they would flow too well. You might try this thread, it is still on the front page. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=106525

    Exhaust manifold helP!!

There must be 50 threads on here about that very subject. The stock a body manifolds will work, but it will be like trying to pee through a cocktail straw. I used Spitfire headers on Dad's 65, and there is another bunch of threads on here about Harold, and how he does business. I sold a set...

TTI coated headers for a small block

I hear ya Tom, each time I have talked to someone there, I always get off the phone and say to myself. "I will never get that part of my life back." Customer service is everything! I bought my Harland Sharp rockers this last time, because of how well they treated me, the first time. When I...

    Talked to Harold at Spitfire(Headers)

Speaking from my own experience, I had good dealings with Harold, but Layson's is a different story. Sometimes I had no choice, but to buy from them, as they have a lot very hard to find A-body stuff, reproduced. But from my experience, they were habitual liars on the phone about order...

TTI coated headers for a small block

Thanks a lot for your post duster340! I did actually have the engine out, and had been waiting to do this, until the swap. Part of the reason I wanted to remove it, was to push a fresh coating of anti-seeze on it. I will probably be throwing the 340 stroker back in it soon, haven't...

TTI coated headers for a small block

Thanks for your input here crackedback, truly appreciated. I tried rotating slightly, as much as I dared, with a closed crescent on the #7 flange, but no slop at all, but of course the remaining flange was not still attached. I honestly thought I had pushed each effort, to the brink of...

TTI coated headers for a small block

Thanks for the post, I will try that. Is that your vert in your avatar? I need to see more pictures! Just called them, and they have "never heard of this problem." I hate that answer, even if it is true, which I doubt.

TTI coated headers for a small block

Sorry if this has been covered before, if so I missed it. I have had the coated TTI's on for almost two years now. I noticed when I pulled my stroker motor last month, and replaced it with the 318, I couldn't get the #7 tube to budge. I whacked the flange with the plastic mallet a few times...

How do you indentify 340 exhaust manifolds?

Over the years, I have had a lot of sets of these. It used to be fun to walk through a salvage yard and pick them out of the pile for $15 each. I think I sold my last set for $475. IIRC, the part numbers are 2863549 and 2863553 for the good 68 to 70 ones.

Best Place to buy TTI Products

I bought my complete system, Headers on back, from John Cambridge and he has always taken great care of me. The H pipe is now rusted out, and John no longer works at Baxter, so I am going to try Chicago Connection for the new H Pipe. Every other time I have tried to do business with them, it...

Running "Harold - where's my headers" thread

Wow, sorry to hear you guys are having such problems. I bought a set a couple years ago when I built this 65 for my Dad. No problems, had them in a couple weeks. Of course, I had been warned to have them shipped C.O.D. Good Luck!
