    4 speed 4 door

I had a factory 68 Dart 270 4-door 273 4-speed with A/C. I sent it off to Bill Reilly at AlterKtion fame but don't know if he ever did anything with it. The 4-doors are the same wheel base and front floor pan as a 2-door, you change the quarter panels, b-pillar, rear floor section, and roof and...

Can you ID this Mopar gearbox?

The other side of the trans will have or not have a flat machined pad with numbers on it. If it is a 66-67 it will not have that pad, if 68 it will, Those numbers shown don't mean much...

    Will it fit?

Like said above no short tail shaft came in a Roadrunner unless it was changed out, I put a B-Body Hemi 4-speed trans in my 70 Duster and cut the trans mount crossmember and moved it back to accomodate the trans, it was not easy but that is all I had in 1981 when I did it. You also have to make...

    What's broke?

Throwout bearing, front bearing, broken input shaft retainer. No matter what it is the trans needs to come out, it will be readily apparent when that happens...

3 speed clutch linkage on 4 speed?

The clutch pedal assembly for an A-Body comes in two flavors, standard and heavy duty. Either one will work with any kind of manual transmission set-up, it is always imperative to be clear when asking about something...

3 speed clutch linkage on 4 speed?

Well the master cylinder basically bolts to the other side of the firewall with the clutch pedal brackets, so I think you will open a can of worms using another type of pedals and brackets. I find the pedal assemblies all the time, sure they are not cheap, but why would you want to cheap out or...

The great thing about changing a 904 to a 4-speed is that the driveshaft is the same!

    Removable floor hump.

My Hemi Dart came with a removable hump using Dzus fasteners. He would change from 4-speed to auto all the time, so he had to be able to get everything in and out quickly. Kinda crude and was pretty large from the firewall seam to the almost the rear floor seam and to the reinforcements for the...

    Bbody 4 speed

In 1981 I put a B-Body Hemi 4-speed in a 70 Duster with a flame hammer and a welder, cut the trans mount, fabricated some mounts, and welded her together...LOL..

    Drilling my Zbar??

Yep, that can be an issue too. The factory big block clutch rod is thicker, that is a small block rod that has been messed with. What bell housing are you using, and if you have the correct one do you have the proper spacer and ball bracket?

    Drilling my Zbar??

I thought I read that the Hemi A-Body's had improvements made also, that was in the Jim Schild book. I would not change the torque shaft, you may be doing it several times to get it right. Looks like a Brewers repop shaft for a big block that you have...

    Z bar crooked

The bracket is on the outside of the inner fender just above the frame rail. Look at the picture I posted of the turquoise car above, that will give you a general idea of where it is supposed to be located.
