Must the engine be upside down for that system to work?

I put the tensioners on roller chains. It has been my experience that the links do wear into the shoe until the rollers contact the tensioner and then the shoe wear stops. I'm happy with that as I've never had a tensioner fail. I too believe it was not designed to be run with a roller timing...

Please enlighten us. How many roller cams have you run/set up and in what engines? Perhaps you answer was too generic and mine was too specific? My reference was to big block Chryslers. Yours was to all engines? Have you ever installed a roller cam in a big block Chrysler and tested the cam walk?

Roller cams require the use of a cam button, flat tappet cams do not.

In my experience an OOTB RPM head will not stall to .700" lift. I have not bothered to test the OOTB head beyond that because why go beyond .700" with an OOTB head that is only flowing, at best, 290cfm? In theory you could run a .700" lift roller cam with the OOTB heads and see an increase in...
