440source Stealth head review and flow numbers

While it is true that we have done extensive testing on the Stealth and Super Stealth heads, like 10 years ago, we no longer offer any porting services. So I think we will just be silent and allow the current tests by others speak for themselves.

    There's an upper rpm limit?

Amount of CFM available from 452 heads, heavily ported

452's on the 451 pump gas stroker was 650+ hp and 906's on the 500 pump gas stroker was 730+ hp. Both sets had 2.25/1.81 valves. Just for the fun of it let us add that ported Edelbrock RPM heads made 787 HP on the same 451 pump gas stroker. Yeah everybody got 2.25 intakes.

    Ported 906 heads

I would not recommend running any factory iron head unless you feel like you just must run them 'cause you personally feel the need or your class rules require them. Hopefully we have finished our last 906 heads for someone other than ourselves. With 2.14/1.81 valves these flowed 299cfm @...

Holley Strip Dominator vs. Edelbrock Victor 340

What I find interesting on the Victor 340 intake that I have sitting on the shelf is that it has 318 size ports. I used the Victor on the stroker because I didn't want to do all the extra grinding required on the Victor 340. Yeah........like so what? Well just a fun fact.

Small block 426 stroker with trickflow heads. How much HP.

I don't know if any of this will help but we did a thread years back on a 423.5 ci 360 that for fun we called it a 426. It was 10.9:1 compression and we started with Speed Master heads, threw them away, and went with LAX iron heads. Used 1-5/8 headers for awhile and then TTI step headers. Ran an...

Have You Taken A Look At Schneider Racing Cams Lately?

Great.....so I sell all my sets of mushroom lifters a year or so ago.........yesterday going through the cams on the back shelf I find at least two mushroom lifter cams.......sigh.

Trick flow track heat vs edelbrock Victor (low deck)

It was pretty close to ten years ago that I received the 400-3. My recollection is that the runners were uneven and ragged at the head face. Don't know if this helps........but........... I just went out and measured the RPM heads we were using on that engine and we had ported the heads and...

Trick flow track heat vs edelbrock Victor (low deck)

Sure..........and I still have no preference. The discussion has since expanded. In the beginning it seemed to me a comparison between the two intakes. I've never had my hands on the Trick Flow and I couldn't speak to a preference between the two. I bought a few Victors before the TF...

Trick flow track heat vs edelbrock Victor (low deck)

If you remove the throat restriction on the Victor under the carburetor flange to look the same as the Trick Flow intake you will lose power on your Victor. This I have tested on back to back dyno runs using a 650 HP big block. The only time I found a benefit to removing the throat restriction...

Trick flow track heat vs edelbrock Victor (low deck)

So that means you are using standard port heads and a 4150 carburetor? Okay, thanks then. With that information I should offer no opinion.

What? Your cylinder heads are not done?

Hiked the 5 hours out yesterday. It is supposed to snow today and I'm not a fan of being in that little tent in a snow storm. Weather clears I'll be in another spot. This was exploring an area I'd never quite been to. I generally go farther up through the left and skip through here.

Nice. Did you relieve the cast iron behind the guide so it doesn't deflect toward the camera?

A week ago I was in the canyon off to the left.........Zero degrees those two mornings. 30 degrees yesterday morning in the saddle @ 7,300' elevation. 71 Dart get 408/ Trick Flow Heads....

I think the Super Victor is a real dud. With it on the 424/360 I could only get 470 lb-ft @ 3,000 rpm, 570 lb-ft @ 5,000 and 620+ hp @ 6,300 rpm. Poor thing is real chock block material.

Speedmaster Small block porting tips and results Part 1

Man, my dad learned porting from an old guy that smoked, and his 'flow bench' was cigarette smoke that he blew into the port. Dad never smoked so he was under a real handicap. My first attempt at porting was in 1962 with dad's old gigantic electric grinder. What was it called......a Dumore...
