Exactly! Had to shim mine almost 3/8 inch to get it right. QT actually sent a couple fork brackets with the shield, but neither was perfect. I used a piece of bar stock, drilled the 2 holes and that was that.

I've rebuilt a few of these and I don't know what plate you mean. In my mind it's a tranny out, disassemble deal.......maybe I'm wrong.

I need to buy rent or steal one of the tools made to do this job with tranny still in the car. Really want to help get this kid down the road, and I can't seem to find one. I know the 727 and 833 use the same bushing. Hope someone can point me to a vendor.

What Centerforce? I ran their dual friction set up years back. It's pretty brutal on parts, if you have some power. Like a friggin light switch, on or off and no in between. Never failed me though, but I don't like the weights.

This thing has only 1 summer on it. I think it doesn't look too good......... You can see those weird hot spots at the 12 o'clock position. Think it was making a bit of noise when starting out on hills late in the year. Think I should just run it, or can it?

Update is ....you can no longer buy the bushing type for aftermarket cranks. Talked to a guy today at Wrenchmonkey.com who seemed to know what he was talking about. "no longer produced". Wish I could find one sitting on somebodies shelf!

Seems to me that input shaft is spinning in the bushing pretty much all the time unless the clutch is pushed in. I might be having a brain fart. If your moving, the input shaft is turning.....

Just don't like needle bearings in certain places......like around my input shaft or rocker arms. I've seen too many catastrophic failures that didn't need to happen. I have been running the needle bearing type for 2 summers now, without issue. If I can find one of those bushing type made by...

I've heard that the needle bearing type can fail and mess up your input shaft. Among other things. I've been running one for 2 summers now, no issues.....but I guess I'm just old school. Don't like needle bearings.

Oh I've used that trick before. It usually works well, but this one was really stuck. Probably was a couple thousands too big in the first place and someone just beat it in.

Pulled this pilot bushing out of a scrapped Eagle crank. I'm running the bearing type in my Scat, but would love to find this bushing type. Haven't been able to find anything but bearing type for aftermarket cranks. Anyone know where I could find one of these? Yeah, it was a ***** to get out.

I have a HF press and with a little extra care, it works just fine. Been using it since 2008. Paid for itself many, many times over.

Heat it. You MIGHT get lucky and it will pull right off with a couple pry bars. I've done this. It can work. Sometimes.

Have a fresh rebuild going in soon, I might just give it a try. People don't realize it but these trannies get pretty darn warm when run hard. Anything better with heat gets my attention.

Hey Johnny! Have heard this is good stuff, BUT if you're occasionally powershifting, it's too heavy and slows the shift down. Wondered if you had any input there. Me personally.....been using GM Synchromesh. Maybe not the best .........really quick shifting. Always up for a change to better...

Why not just get their kit, which includes everything? I did a few yrs ago. No prob.
