    Clutch fork

Don't know big blocks or late models at all, but I've never seen a Mopar fork with a bend. Never. Doesn't look "bent" either. Looks like it was made that way. I'm sure someone who knows what it is will chime in....

Small block QuickTime bell with TTI Z bar

Exactly! Had to shim mine almost 3/8 inch to get it right. QT actually sent a couple fork brackets with the shield, but neither was perfect. I used a piece of bar stock, drilled the 2 holes and that was that.

    Extension housing bushing R&R

Thanks for clarifying that. I guess I forgot to mention 4 speed. I think it's different. Every 833 I've done, the gearset comes out with the extension housing. Even if it was possible to release the giant clip and leave the gears in there, I wouldn't want any part of it. Its a hassle getting...

    Extension housing bushing R&R

I've rebuilt a few of these and I don't know what plate you mean. In my mind it's a tranny out, disassemble deal.......maybe I'm wrong.

    Extension housing bushing R&R

I need to buy rent or steal one of the tools made to do this job with tranny still in the car. Really want to help get this kid down the road, and I can't seem to find one. I know the 727 and 833 use the same bushing. Hope someone can point me to a vendor.

    A833 Input Shaft Woes

Yeah I get that. Why did Passon have it in the first place?

    A833 Input Shaft Woes

What was wrong with the one you sent Passon?

    Pick a clutch.....any clutch

Yeah I read the whole clutch tamer thing. Pretty cool. For a once a month TNT guy like me, maybe it's a bit of overkill. If I was racing, I'd have one in a minute.

    Pick a clutch.....any clutch

Well can't believe I did it, but talked to a guy today who's been running a dual disc setup for a few years, so I bit the bullet and ordered one. McLeod RXT. SUPPOSEDLY.........I'll never go back to single disc. We'll see.... Edit hours later. Calling Summit tomorrow when the rooster crows...

    Pick a clutch.....any clutch

I ran an adjustable many years ago. Definitely the best choice if I was racing a lot. But if I remember, i had to change my adjustment every time I went from street to track and visa versa. Would need to send my scattersheild to QT to cut an access hole. I think a soft lock is out. I really...

    Pick a clutch.....any clutch

What Centerforce? I ran their dual friction set up years back. It's pretty brutal on parts, if you have some power. Like a friggin light switch, on or off and no in between. Never failed me though, but I don't like the weights.

    Pick a clutch.....any clutch

Decided to just start a new thread and see what happens. Hoping to get some real hardcore suggestions. YR, RRR, SG, ,,hope you guys jump in. So here's the scenario: you need a clutch and pressure plate. Sold a bunch of crap so money is put aside just for this. 3040 pound Demon 4:30 rear 578...

    Check out my pressure plate

Hey man I agree but I'm running a hydraulic TO bearing. American Powertrain says "we don't recommend B&B style pressure plates". Don't see a real reason why not, except maybe diameter-wise....

    Check out my pressure plate

Do you think this transfer of material is happening at the launch? The plate actually looks ok. Just a sintered iron disc. I just didn't like the occasional whining I was hearing when I'd start out on a hill. Putting a bit more motor in there and now that it's out, I just didn't know if I...

    Check out my pressure plate

This thing has only 1 summer on it. I think it doesn't look too good......... You can see those weird hot spots at the 12 o'clock position. Think it was making a bit of noise when starting out on hills late in the year. Think I should just run it, or can it?

    Pilot bushing help.

Update is ....you can no longer buy the bushing type for aftermarket cranks. Talked to a guy today at Wrenchmonkey.com who seemed to know what he was talking about. "no longer produced". Wish I could find one sitting on somebodies shelf!

    Pilot bushing help.

Seems to me that input shaft is spinning in the bushing pretty much all the time unless the clutch is pushed in. I might be having a brain fart. If your moving, the input shaft is turning.....

    Pilot bushing help.

Just don't like needle bearings in certain places......like around my input shaft or rocker arms. I've seen too many catastrophic failures that didn't need to happen. I have been running the needle bearing type for 2 summers now, without issue. If I can find one of those bushing type made by...

    Pilot bushing help.

I've heard that the needle bearing type can fail and mess up your input shaft. Among other things. I've been running one for 2 summers now, no issues.....but I guess I'm just old school. Don't like needle bearings.

    Pilot bushing help.

Oh I've used that trick before. It usually works well, but this one was really stuck. Probably was a couple thousands too big in the first place and someone just beat it in.

    Pilot bushing help.

No longer stocked. Damn, it looks like SKF quit making them. I really don't like a needle bearing for this application. I'm going to try a deeper search and maybe find one on somebodies shelf somewhere.... Appreciate the help, guys.

    Pilot bushing help.

Pulled this pilot bushing out of a scrapped Eagle crank. I'm running the bearing type in my Scat, but would love to find this bushing type. Haven't been able to find anything but bearing type for aftermarket cranks. Anyone know where I could find one of these? Yeah, it was a ***** to get out.

Installed 1-2 shift collar BACKWARDS. Alternate removal options?

I have a HF press and with a little extra care, it works just fine. Been using it since 2008. Paid for itself many, many times over.

Installed 1-2 shift collar BACKWARDS. Alternate removal options?

Heat it. You MIGHT get lucky and it will pull right off with a couple pry bars. I've done this. It can work. Sometimes.

Safe to put in Mercon V in A833?

Have a fresh rebuild going in soon, I might just give it a try. People don't realize it but these trannies get pretty darn warm when run hard. Anything better with heat gets my attention.

Safe to put in Mercon V in A833?

Hey Johnny! Have heard this is good stuff, BUT if you're occasionally powershifting, it's too heavy and slows the shift down. Wondered if you had any input there. Me personally.....been using GM Synchromesh. Maybe not the best .........really quick shifting. Always up for a change to better...
