What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Went to lunch today with friends. We all brought out our green Mopars for St Patrick's Day (a few days early). Mine is the one in the middle. We got a table over looking the parking lot (best seats in the house!).

How much would you spend on it?

That was a pretty car when new. The paint color may not look good now, but maybe it'll buff out. The caved in quarter, not so much. There are virtually no reproduction C-body parts available. And that includes sheet metal. You say you don't need floors, but you can't even get decent repro floors...

    HBO show "Duster"

Filming has started for a new HBO show called "Duster". According to someone who had a couple of cars used in the filming this weekend, the show stars Josh Holloway and a 1971 Duster. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12160826/

    what is this car?

Looks like a Morgan. Might even be a Morgan 8 with a V8. Weighs as much as a Buick. Look at it from the bottom and it appears to have been made out of old wooden pallets and beer cans.

Differences Between '67-'68-'69 Barracuda Notchback/Convertible Trunk Lids

The 67, 68, and 69 Barracuda coupe and convertible trunk lids are the same. Only the holes for the trim and emblems are different depending on the model year. Don't know if that difference extends to holes which may or may not be in the under surface bracing that the exterior sheet metal is...

    Let's See Your Mopars.. again

Turquoise fastback and blue Dart are future projects. Tan wagon is the current project (along with a 68 Charger not shown), and the white wagon will be sold soon. The rest are drivers.

Cool. I'm kind of looking for a '66 Polara 500 convertible myself.

What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

My little town had it's "Summer's End Cruise in" yesterday, so I had a few friends stop by before the show and we grilled burgers and hot dogs before driving into the show together. The guy with the Buick also has a nice 66 Coronet, so we didn't mind him bringing the Buick. There were a today of...

First time together at the same cruise in.

...don't know if its still on or not, but I think there may also still be a small weekly cruise in at Dogs R Us in Titusville (with a view of Cape Canaveral).

First time together at the same cruise in.

...and the weekly Saturday cruise in at Old Town Kissimmee is kind of fun too. But it can't compare to The Villages cruise in. The traffic getting to it and then going home is enough to keep excursions to Old Town to a minimum.

First time together at the same cruise in.

...and don't forget the Saturday cruise ins at The Villages the third Saturday of each month. Those shows are worth the drive and the number and quality of the cars have always impressed me. I usually try to time my Florida visits, to see family in Oviedo, so that I can attend the Villages...

First time together at the same cruise in.

Great that you were able to show the cars together. I took this photo in the driveway yesterday. Just got home from a car show I attended with a few buddies. That's my Barracuda in the middle and the Darts belong to my buddies (and my old 'farm truck" in the background).

    1969 Dart GT 318 4-Speed Convertible

A buddy of mine has a 273 4 speed 69 Dart GT convertible. His 4 speed convertible is rarer than my 1 of 60 made 68 340 4 speed Barracuda Formula S convertible. Any 4 speed convertible is very rare. And yes, the 4 speed does add to it's value simply because everyone wants a 4 speed...

A body full floor pan At carslile

I saw they had it there, but I wasn't sure if I could easily get it home from the show or not. I was driving the 2014 Challenger this year, and a couple buddies that usually had trailer space left their trailers at home this year. Guess I'll just order from AMD and pay the freight.

A body full floor pan At carslile

I know Stephens Performance always sells AMD sheetmetal at Chrysler Carlisle, but I don't knoa what vendors are or aren't going this year. You could call them and find out if they will be going and if they'll have the sheet metal you need. I may buy one for my 68 Dart there too if a buddy will...

AMD parts. What I found out

I received my AMD shipment today as well. Two 68 Barracuda full quarters, two 68 Dart quarter skins, and an A body rear cross member (shock mount). I had ordered 68 Barracuda splash shields as well. They showed "in stock" when I ordered, but they were gone by the time they shipped my order...

    Dark Green Metallic cars!!

I hate that color, but I can't get away from it either. I'm afraid I now look at green cars as blank canvases that can only be improved by doing a color change. My 68 Charger RT was originally that color, but a previous owner changed it to black. Its currently at the body shop and its going to...

1965 Valiant Convertible - What's it worth to you?

If you like the car, take it with you. It won't be that unusual in Mexico. Valiant convertibles were assembled and sold new in Mexico. There are still enough old Valiants on the road there that there must be parts suppliers.

    Red Wheel liners

Looks like you have a convertible. The rear liners won't fit the convertible unless you cut and modify them to fit. Saw the videos of yesterday's flooding in Ellicott City. I hope you and your's came through okay and with no damage.

    Red Wheel liners

Don't know what to suggest for undercoating. Back when my Barracuda was apart for restoration, in the late '80's, I did my best to clean 20 years worth of road tar off the red plastic liners. I tried several different products but mostly used bug and tar remover. I remember it took alot of time...

Now I went and did it, bought an old DeSoto/Plymouth dealership!

Its a no brainer. Use it for classic car storage, but more than that, it could be a country club for car guys who need a place to hang out other than a golf course for a monthly membership fee. With a party room, local car clubs could use it for special events (hook up with a caterer and you...

    DODGE BOYS PIC

In 1970-71 the sheriff showed up in most of the Dodge ads. The Dodge Boys were kind of replaced by the sheriff. By around 73 or 74 a masked Lone Ranger figure on horseback was appearing in Dodge TV commercials. In the late 80's, the Dodge Boys reference made a brief come back but I don't believe...

    DODGE BOYS PIC

In the early 70's Dodge had the Sherriff in their promotional material. He was then replaced with a Lone Ranger character on a horse. Don't remember any reference to Dodge Boys after about 1970. But I do recall Dodge Boys references in advertising in the late 80's. phscollectorcarworld...
