Country singer Toby Keith dead at 62

Stomach cancer took a guy I knew in 1981. That stuff is nasty. He was 31 or 32. I'm a fan of Toby's, but my favorite of his is the live version of Mockingbird with his daughter. He just seemed to be having so much fun.

Lumber question for those in the building trades

My in-laws owned a house in Tracy that they were selling back 20 years ago or so. The house was built in the 1990s. When the house was inspected there was a minor roof timber that had cracked. It was a 2x3, yes a 2x3. In the middle of the length there had been a knot that was at least 1.5" in...

Rally Dash in a 67 Valiant

It's easy to do with the windshield out, but can be done without removing it. It takes cutting the u-nuts and bolts so that you can remove the dash frame. New u-nuts on the new dash frame with some shorter bolts going in from the bottom will work. Use the '67 Barracuda dash harness and change...

Any tips on sending a door from California to Michigan?

CudaChick has been using something called PirateShip (or something like that). Not sure how it works, but worth checking out.

    A body parts availability

Parts aren't bad for the more popular stuff, BUT with any classic car buy the most complete version you can. If you avoid rust and major body damage you will be money ahead. A done car is almost always less expensive than restoring one, but you may not find one that checks all your boxes. Even...

Wtf is wrong with employers these days?!

Some union locals might be good, but don't get me started on the IBEW local in Fresno. To say they didn't back up the employee would be a gross understatement...

Wtf is wrong with employers these days?!

Try being late 50s-early 60s. From the middle of 2017 to the middle of 2021 I applied for probably more than 200 jobs that I was very qualified for. Less than 10 even responded. I had three interviews and got two jobs out of it (both temp). One place that didn't respond was one that I did work...

    Still Retain Any Kindergarten Memories?

Don't really remember kinder or much of 1st grade, except my friend (Lee Myers - I still remember his name and haven't seen him since 1st or 2nd grade) cried and cried the first day of 1st grade. My earliest real memory was from before I started school, however. Our neighborhood was brand new...

How many cars with original drivetrain are on this forum?

Our GTS was 15 years old when we bought it in 1983. Our Durango is now 23 years old, going on 24.

I've brought in a few side jobs since I retired nearly six years ago. I'm done with that as it is ALWAYS something else. The project creep keeps their cars here longer than expected and keeps me from doing my stuff. I'll still do things like rebuild control arms and K-members, but not have the...

I've never lost interest, but I have spent months at a time without making progress on the cars. In my case it is easy because my wife is in it with me. When we see a cool car at a show we are both interested. Health and life has pushed some things back, but we still have the first car we bought...

Unpopular opinion. I'm so frustrated I hate car shows/cruises.

Our club is very different than that. One year a '65 Formula S won best of show (there were real hemi and six pack cars there). This '65 was clean enough to eat off and he had driven it from Arizona to central California. Last year a young guy with a slightly beater F-body garnered a great deal...

Unpopular opinion. I'm so frustrated I hate car shows/cruises.

Back in 1988 my sons were 2 and 4. We went to a show in Pleasanton with the GTS. I had sat down with them the day before that they weren't to touch any of the cars (yes, they really were great kids). At one point they were walking with me between cars, both of them sucking on a sucker with all...

I'm 63 and still love 50s music, surfer stuff, 60s, 70s and 80s rock. So, the music at most shows fits me well. Now, when they start playing rap I'm not happy...

I like car shows and I like cruises, although it's been a long time since we had a car on the road. I learned a long time ago to ignore the "you should have" crowd. I do enjoy when my fleet car fender tag confuses the "know it alls" when they think our 440 A-body convertibles are original...

    Favorite Non-Mopar

They were just out of my price range when I bought my first new car (there have only been two in 48 years of driving) otherwise I would have gone and looked at them and likely bought one. My wife had a '76 Buick Skyhawk when we got married. We sold it to buy the GTS convertible, but when the GNX...

Big Block log style exhaust manifolds fittment in A body.?

I have seen the rear dump manifolds swapped side to side with funky exhaust routing. That may be what he did. I have also seen B-body HP manifolds on a "B" motor in an early A-body.

Big Block log style exhaust manifolds fittment in A body.?

Yup. That was the first set of manifolds I tried. The passenger side hits the firewall not allowing the engine to go back far enough.
  30. J

Big Block log style exhaust manifolds fittment in A body.?

If they are rear dump (behind the last exhaust port) they passenger side will NOT fit. Not too sure of the driver side.
