Classic Auto Air in 67 Barracuda Factory Non AC

I'm not that far into it, yet. I also haven't decided what I'm going to do as far as a radio goes.

Classic Auto Air in 67 Barracuda Factory Non AC

I already gave them a link to this thread. I also found out that it is very unlikely that they are making any part of this. A local auto air place said the unit looks just like a Vintage box. I suspect that the unit is universal, only the brackets are unique to each body style and make.

Classic Auto Air in 67 Barracuda Factory Non AC

I'm working an idea for a tool that will allow me to bend the heater tubse without putting stress on the tubes as they go into the box. It just hasn't been high on my to do list.

Classic Auto Air in 67 Barracuda Factory Non AC

Likely true, but I made it known to the person I talked to last week that the problem needed to be fixed or they would get the kind of publicity they don't want and that I am reasonably well known in the little circle of A-body fans. That the question of what to buy or not to buy comes up and...

That's why I'm going to raise the box up by lowering the mounting holes on the bracket. Whether they end up following my advice is up to them...

Classic Auto Air in 67 Barracuda Factory Non AC

Well, I had a long conversation with somebody at Classic today. They initially just wanted to refund my money, but I told them that really wasn't satisfactory and all they would do is get bad feedback from me all over the net. I am going to try to fix this for them so that customers in the...

Classic Auto Air in 67 Barracuda Factory Non AC

I already had a compressor and Bouchillon brackets, but mine is a big block ('69 setup). Completely different setup and my belts line up. I installed their bracket and compressor on a 273 in a '66 Barracuda (one LONG belt for AC and power steering). It was iffy.

Classic Auto Air in 67 Barracuda Factory Non AC

I'm dealing with Classic right now. They claim this is the way it fits, which I am saying is certainly not a "perfect" fit. They are trying to blow me off, but I don't go away that easily. I'm also not going to cut my firewall. I'm going to escalate it tomorrow above the first line tech help, if...

    Anyone use Vintage Air

One thing about the Classic system and probably all the others that are heat/AC combined is that you will lose the fresh air vent on the passenger side. When I get to that point I will see if I can cut the fresh air vent part off a heater box and build a wall on the open side to keep the vent...

    Anyone use Vintage Air

Classic auto air has a heater/AC unit that replaces the heater in '67-up A-bodies. That's what I am planning on for my '67 convertible.

Has anybody run one of these?

Thanks. Talked to Ken today and ordered a radiator. I'll stick with the fixed fan for now.

Has anybody run one of these?

And, it'll fit. Only problem is that they won't be getting more in stock for 30 days. Lifetime warranty, too.

radiator different for same year cars?

My 69 Polara (383/AC) had the upper hose on the passenger side, like your second pic. It is likely that the radiators changed between the two years. It is also likely that, like Kraby said, radiators have been swapped.

Factory A/C air grill placement on 68 Barracuda

I finally got the pics of the studs. This dash is a 67 so the ashtray is wider.

Factory A/C air grill placement on 68 Barracuda

Got busy over the weekend. Should have time this evening. I did get the dash pulled out of the garage, though.

Factory A/C air grill placement on 68 Barracuda

There should be two studs sticking out from the bottom of the dash. I have my AC dash loose in the garage. I'll see if I can get some pics this evening.
