    Radiator overflow tank

I run these in several cars. The barb is on the bottom so it's truly a recovery tank, and not just an overflow. Engine gets hot, it pushes a few inches of fluid out, when it cools off, it draws it back in. Cheap too. Dorman 603-001 Dorman Coolant Reservoirs | Summit Racing

    Radiator

Glad I stumbled on this one. Nihms, was the fully dressed, with pulleys, the version you got? I think the path of least resistance is a new radiator. You will want good cooling anyways for the new Power plant. 1970 + radiators do have the outlet on the passenger side, and different timing...

    Radiator..??

Griffin gets my vote. I don't even turn the fans on 90% of the time on a 600+ hp street dart.

Tell me about this puke can

The 90 degree fitting on the outside needs a matching drop tube on the inside going to the bottom. If it has that, then it'll recirc :)

Clutch fan vs derale single 2400cfm fan

I see you said you returned it already, but I bought that exact fan years ago.....I recently gave it to my brother in law for free a few months back because it never even came close to what I needed it to do, and I was fairly certain it never made anywhere near advertised cfm. He just has a...

    Radiator upgrade experiences?

I 2nd this, and am a firm believer in a dual row, 2.250 aluminum radiator will out cool 3 or 4 thinner rows. I run a griffin dual 2.25 core, and would buy another in a heartbeat. Car makes 600+ hp, and I drove it tonight without even turning the fan on.

    Blueprint 408 cooling system questions.

Was it crap advice if it was actually given that way? Yes. Is the thread about a tech call? No. And reading the thread, as you note in post 116 and 117....where do ya even start... Point blank, anyone here is welcome to reach out to us for help. If you feel the info isn't correct, you all...

    Blueprint 408 cooling system questions.

At some point in the thread he did. 200 on the water neck I believe. So much going on in here. Total timing not coming in until 4000+ rpm...a copper/brass radiator, no shroud, carb issues, dieseling...on and on. Would like to help him get it figured out, if he gets back on.

    Blueprint 408 cooling system questions.

I would agree the heat during driving being related to break-in is incorrect. I would assume that is a miscommunication referencing how engines going through cam break-in regularly don't see enough timing at low RPM, and that can lead to increased Temps. The rest of the thread bounces around...

    Blueprint 408 cooling system questions.

Hopefully got it figured out. Was hard to decipher if there was actually a problem or not....then when it starts as a bare longblock....makes it that much tougher to determine cooling system....carb tune up....even intake choice.

    Blueprint 408 cooling system questions.

I'm guessing it was sold as a longblock without intake, carb, distributor, etc. Makes it hard to help diagnose issues when it's not our equipment on the engine. Op doesn't seem very active on here either.

    Blueprint 408 cooling system questions.

I'm sure there is some context lost in there. What is true is people continually don't dial in enough ignition timing during cam break in, and rings seating does help. I imagine that's what was being relayed. Lots of good advice in the comments relating to timing, fans, etc. I gave a long...

    Blueprint 408 cooling system questions.

Yes. They are drained. Otherwise they would rust in the bag. What fan/shroud is on it now? What is "not much better?" You say above it was hitting 180 on gauge with tstat open before. That's normal...with a 180 stat. T stats are junk anymore. I have replaced way more than I should have had...

    Blueprint 408 cooling system questions.

Have you topped off the radiator after it has cooled all the way down? Several times? Tried leaving the radiator cap off (from cold) and seeing it the t-stat opens properly and you can see the fluid moving? And top it off if low. Note, you do have to get the cap on before it hits...

    Blueprint 408 cooling system questions.

I agree with this 100%. These cars do NOT have big radiators, and The twin 1.25 tubes in a nice aluminum radiator is (also in my opinion) the best you can get. 4 copper/brass rows are not nearly as efficient, and unless they randomly have success based simply on increased capacity, there...

Heater core re-cored? Or such thing as a universal one?

That's kind of what I did online. I found the 73 charger to look about the same, and it was close enough I made it work.

    Blower motor resistor wiring help?

Hello all, Please and thanks in advance. Heater box is from a 78 charger. I am puzzled by how to wire in a universal 4 position blower speed switch. Resistor is shown. Cannot find a wiring diagram newer than 76. It does not match. On RH plug. Top (brown w yellow) runs to nothing. Just a...

Heater core re-cored? Or such thing as a universal one?

I'm yanking the AC stuff. It's gone already. But the heater boxes, ducting, and firewall are completely different. I suppose if I had a non AC dash and vents...But I don't. To make all this that much more silly, the core doesn't leak, but looks rough. So I hoped to replace it, use the AC...

Heater core re-cored? Or such thing as a universal one?

The shell (firewall and heater box) is technically a 78 monaco 2 door. With A/C I usually look up 78 Cordoba or charger, as some parts searches incorrectly pull the "Royal Monaco" which was a C body.

Heater core re-cored? Or such thing as a universal one?

Thanks, will see if I can pull a PN off it. I have lived in the aftermarket all my life, so I never even consider looking for an actual Chrysler # lol. Usually bc if someone has something NOS, it could be for a yugo and people will want $$$$ :p

Heater core re-cored? Or such thing as a universal one?

Hey all, My 78 B body (the powertour car I'm building) has an A/C heater box, and unfortunately that heater core is discontinued in the aftermarket. The firewall and box is COMPLETELY different than a non A/C car. So my 75 parts car is useless in this aspect. . I haven't successfully found a...
