What it is doing that make me pull the pan, is not going into passing gear. Also it shifts way too low. I now have a completely stock valve body on there. It kicked down once, now acts the same same way the two before acted. I haven't pulled the pan yet to see if this one cracked.

Mine is a 65 727. I'll see if I have pictures.

I have had 3 of them crack on a 65 727. The valve bodies are interchangeable. I can't tell you why they cracked.

Odometer readings are exempt on old cars in my state.

The reason you hold off an 1/8 is so your T.P. lever isn't all in before you get to full throttle. Then you know it's not holding you at part throttle. That way you won't stretch or brake your cable.

The extra spring in the picture is not needed to pull the T.P. lever forward. the spring in the valve body is all. The first bit of travel nothing happens. there is a cam shaped shoe that pushes the T.P. valve in after it moves a bit. Adjust the T.P. lever so it is all the way back except 1/8 "...

There are 2 that are 1" long. One brown? Weaker of the two. The other is black. Then ther are 2 that are 1 1/4" long one is black and one is red I think. So a title of 4 springs. I guess I thought I had a book that had that info. But it did not. Thanks for your help.

I am putting a transgo tf2 kit in today. The kit says reuse the original converter valve spring. Problem there are 2 springs that I took out, that are same diameter and length. One is a little stiffer than the other, so my question is which one is the spring for the converter valve?

I think I would change those, they don't cost too much.

I've always had good experiences with them. Rick does all the performance stuff himself, so he does get spread a little thin sometimes.
