Glove box pops open under mild acceleration

That's not a glove box cover but a Performance Indicator. My first Barracuda was a 1967 4 speed 273 Commando. I knew I threw a good 1-2 shift when the door opened and even better when junk flew out. IIRC, it did not have a magnet but a spring loaded hinge. My current 68 has the push-button...

Barracuda FB Rear Quarter Glass Sticks

Remove the window winder and arm rest if your car has them. (Rear arm rests not standard on 68 cudas but part of the Deluxe interior) There are clips at the bottom of the panel. You can get a stiff putty knife under the panel and carefully pry the panel away from the steel frame. Be gentle! The...

Probably can't find these seat skins.

Are there any upholsterers in your area? A good shop can do what you want. I agree that example you have looks pretty good.

    69 Dart Bucket Seat Questions

The trans tunnel is NOT centered in the car. It is offset to the right about 2". I put buckets in my 64 Valiant and had the same concern. I just finished reupholstering my rear seat and the floor hump cutout in the seat bottom is not symmetrical either. The offset hump carries right through to...

    '68 Dart 270 4-Door Front Seat Upholstery

Chances of finding a kit for a 4 door Dart are pretty slim. Practically zero. Legendary has front bench kits for more popular cars (68 Road Runner?) but for most vendors, A-bodies are pretty low on the food chain. Best bet is to take it around to upholstery shops and see what they can do.

1969 Dart Console Switch? What is this?

Someone installed a front/rear speaker fader switch in place of the cigarette lighter. IIRC, not all consoles had lighters, many had a chrome button to fill the hole. You can probably get one at a hardware store. Before "stereo", there was a rear speaker option on some cars, not A-bodies...

    Seat adapters

A 64 Valiant and a 65 Barracuda floor pan are the same! I just put 65 cuda bucket seats in my 64 Val.

Will this Tuff Wheel adapter work ?

I seem to recall that Ehrenberg in Mopar Action did an article on adapting Tuff wheels in earlier cars about 3-5 yrs ago.

    New Carpet Question

Al is correct. But if you are converting to auto on column from a 4 speed, you will have to decide if you want to retain the steel floor hump. ACC carpets have a molded in bulge for the hump. If you are removing the hump and are welding in a filler piece, you would order the automatic version...

HELP Needed for 63 Plymouth Valiant Signet Convertible Restoration

Yes the rear panels are fiberglass. Luckily mine are really good. I don't have any spares but Carlisle is about 10 days away. Maybe you should plan a trip.

1968 Barracuda Deluxe Seats: Carpet or Vinyl back panels?

I agree with Rhino. Normally I would say call Legendary Auto Interiors and ask them but I see you are in Italy. I sent them an email asking a question about my interior about 3 weeks ago and they replied the very next day. You could tell them what color deluxe interior you are planning and ask...

    64 bucket seat conversion question

Everything snowballs. The main project is converting a 64 Valiant from a 3 on the tree to a 4 speed. Took about 3 years to collect the parts and that part is going fine. It needs new carpeting molded for the floor hump. Rather than put the worn out original bench seat back in, I guess it's time...

Bucket Seat Tracks '68-'69 vs '70-'72

I got that wrong in my previous post, we were both saying the same thing. I just put a 68 passenger seat beside a 71 driver seat. The 71 seat track is 3/4" shorter. 2" vs. 2-3/4". I took measurements on each and the height of the seat cushions are the same. (Not shown) The floor stud pattern is...

Bucket Seat Tracks '68-'69 vs '70-'72

If anything I'd believe just the opposite is true. My 68 came with 71 buckets and I feel like a little kid sitting in his dad's car. (I'm 6'-0) I'm seriously thinking of adding spacers under the tracks. I may have a definitive answer soon as they are coming out to do some floor pan hump work. I...

What did you do in your Space Duster?

Yeah, I can tell stories about a teen aged kid whose first car was a 67 FB cuda back in the day. Some involve drive-in movies and maybe best told in the blue forum. Soundtrack might be Night Moves or Paradise by the Dashboard Light. I first slept in the car at the 1970 U.S. Nationals in Indy...

    factory installed clock

Pictures of a 40,000 mile 1969 cuda unrestored Rallye Dash with clock. The adjustment knob goes through the bottom lip of the dash. Another pic shows the routing of the cable to the back of the clock. Notice the 24 hr secondary markings. **** I ask why would anyone order a clock with a 340 4...

You may have better luck and more looks if you post in the "wanted" section. The parts look similar to 67-69 stuff but they have to be different.

68 is one year only. It slides out from the dash unlike the ones that tilt down. I may be able to post a pic later.

Ronzini's pic is it! Optional full circle horn ring, his is standard partial ring. They were not all black but colored to match the interior, red, blue etc.

    1968 barracuda

Its an exit vent for the flow through ventilation system. It's a plastic grille like the picture posted above. Look at any Barracuda factory literature and you'll see the theory.

1965 barracuda seat upholstery kit install difficulty

Haven't looked in awhile, but Legendary has how-to videos on their site. Classic most likely gets their stuff from Legendary anyway. Look and wait for sales at 20-30% off. Legendary is (was) always at major shows with show special discounts. They are sold on a per order basis, not stocked, so...

    Rear Seat Conundrum

I'm no Duster expert but it's very likely rear armrests were not standard. Don't forget, Dusters were considered an economy car back then. On 67-69 Barracudas, rear armrests were not standard. Only added when deluxe interior was ordered.

Surface rust prep before sound deadning

Yep, i would use some sort of Paint Over Rust product. Clean and degrease then have at it. Eastwood has their version in spray cans or brush on. Spray cans make it easy. Do NOT get it on your skin as it takes a few days to wear off. Just ask anyone who has used it.

Put an ad in the Wanted section for just the sockets with attached wires. Plenty of old harnesses kickin around.

Lower rear seat, 67 fb barracuda

Go underneath the car and poke something sharp (awl) up through the sound deadener from the bottom. That will locate the holes. You may have to muscle the seat a bit to line the tabs up with the holes. It's been a long time but I'm guessing the bolts are 5/16-18 with kinda big washers attached.

    Valiant Carpet Question

Subject is 1964 Valiant V-200 convertible. I am converting to a 4 speed and will probably end up changing the carpet. Looking at pictures on the ACC site, there definitely is a formed section to fit around the floor hump which I am adding. MY QUESTION IS: What is the difference between Signet...

I've thought of converting buckets to stools. Don't forget to scatter some petrified French fries under it.
