I'd like to find some spare 3577076, 3577077, 3577078, 3577086, and some 3577121's. What are the chances. Good luck with your repair, it should be easy.

    oil priming

Don't forget oil filter. Dang! How could I be so stupid? Prime it a little and rotate crank a few degrees and prime some more. At least 360* a few degrees at a time. Rotating the crank will oil the whole system, just like it does when it's running.

    helicoil in heads

I've got a set of heads just like that too. Those are junk. Send them to me along with the rocker arms and shafts and I'll throw them away for you. I'll send you some nice 587's. Oh, I'll need the pushrods to throw away also. J/K Helicoil shouldn't be to hard to do. Just be clean about it. Ray

    74 340 Cuda! what should i do?

Wow, where to start? After setting that long a lot of things can happen. CHECK EVERYTHING. Brake hoses, lines, gas tank, lines, trans seals, ball joints, master cyl, wheel cyl, tires, EVERYTHING. The engine probably has at least 1 stuck valve and might have rings that don't want to move. With...

    340 #'s

What are the codes on the driver side front of block where the head meets the block? Build date? I've got a 340 with no #s, it was a replacement engine. The dealer was to stamp the V.I.N. on the block when installed. Sounds like a nice car. Ray

    casting number?

Is the distributor in the front or rear? There should be casting #s on it. Are these #s on the front? Could it be assembly date and engine seq.? 3153 on the 10,000 day calendar would be Mar. 16, 1970. Are they stamped #s? May be an "F" for 1970. "E" is for 1969. Let us know what you find out. Ray

    Engine Combo Questions

That’s some good info! the 4" Stroke would make a nice square motor. I would really like to go Alu. head for weight and for a modern combustion chamber plus its much easier to port or clean up for me (used to working with it). Which brings up another question about porting how rough should the...

    340 identification

The #s on the block just below the head on front drivers side will tell you. Will even tell what day it was put together. Hope it is a 340. Ray
