65 and 66 A-body console and bucket seat differences

The 66 inner track is different than 63-65. I sold a 66 Barracuda roller and was going to put 65 bucket seats in it. That's how I know. 66 was first year for full length and that is probably why the track is different.

    DYING CARPET

I have black carpet and it was faded pretty bad. I believe I used a SEM carpet dye I got at a local automotive paint store. Followed instructions and brushed it per directions. It worked very well to restore the color. It was the same as you describe. Not real worn, just faded.

    Questions on interior trim

On metal parts, prep the same way you would when painting any metal surface. On plastic, model paint. On vinyl, SEM products work very well. Prep products are available from different manufactures, just follow directions on the products. Available in aerosol cans or colors can be mixed at...

    65 Valiant rear seat

The early Darts and Valiants are the same width, but there is a different shape for the rear seat bottom between a 2 and 4 door seat. It would fit but would be a 4 door seat bottom.

    Inner liner under door panels?

They are a plastic moisture barrier to keep the card board from warping. The were pretty thin from the factory and the above mentioned plastic would be a better choice. Either contact cement and/or tape to hold them in place.

    Rug Installation question

I would think the switch is mounted to the floor under the carpet. Cut a small X in the carpet for the switch to locate and then cut a circle for for the foot pedal to go thru.

Interior door trim strip...always chromed,or sometimes painted black?

That is what seems to be the case. Base models seemed to have painted moldings color coded to the interior color. I have seen 2 and 4 door cars with the painted moldings.

Interior door trim strip...always chromed,or sometimes painted black?

When I replied to post I thought the question was about belt moldings. Some of the interior strips were painted, usually in base model vehicles, most were stainless. Probably always stainless in 2 door hardtops.

Interior door trim strip...always chromed,or sometimes painted black?

If you like the blacked out look, sand the stainless with 600 paper and spray with trim black. They were always stainless. Or clean the paint off the other stainless pieces and polish.

    1965/66 dart seats/upholstery question

The inside seat track holes are in a different position for 66. I sold a 66 Barracuda and was going to put 64 Bucket seats in it and that is when I discovered the inside track studs were in a different position.

Interior door trim strip...always chromed,or sometimes painted black?

63-66 low level models some times had the painted strip. It may have carried on in later models. I have only come across a few. Most were chrome, if they are painted they usually conform to the interior color.

I have a 73 Chevy truck that I replaced the dash pad in 1989. The new one was blue and the interior color is saddle. Back seat /Trunk divider

It's a one piece hard board material like a glove box insert material. It is probably thicker than that. It usually has cut outs and slips over the upper hooks for mounting the seat back. They are probably reproduced or one could make their own. If you had the old one it could be used for a...

    Interior Paint Supplier?

Try SEM vinyl colors. An automotive paint store should have this or be able to get it. They should also be able to mix a color for aerosol cans.
