1971 Demon p/s gear box. Just fired up my motor and dealing with all the fun surprises. I was looking for tips on removing the top seal of my p/s gear box or worm seal. Looks like it should pry right off but I am looking for the wisdom of the forum before I go and screw it up. Thanks!

Some people have messaged me asking if I ever found a solution. I found a 90 degree fitting and I just cut the line so it would line up and welded it together. It ain’t pretty but it works. I hope this helps others find a solution to this problem.

Awesome solution unfortunately my column is different. Mine has a collar between the flange and the shaft. That’s the space I’m concerned with. The space between the 35mm opening and the 1” shaft. But that’s a great solution to my issue if I can find a bearing with my needed dimensions.

Is my steering column missing something to center the shaft on the housing? or is it normal for it to float like it is. I believe the gear selector leg was removed just not sure if that's what centers the shaft or if it's lacking another bushing or something. Thank you

LOL, that's such a simple and brilliant solution. I'm embarassed for not having tried that . I'll check into that possibility but it sounds like it will be the solution. I just need to verify the bracket adjustment slot allows for the pump to push out far enough.

Thanks, I think you may have misread my reply. Same hose as long as it's a Saginaw pump on both different cars. Yes definitely different hose for the Federal as the tips are different. The link you share is helpful. At least I know I'm not the only one LOL. I just wanted an original type...

I have the Saginaw pump. Matching hose. In the picture I am still using the original old hose I got off the Barracuda 318 motor. The new hose is identical. I check parts listing and both 70 Barracuda and 71 Demon show the same hose given theyre both using the Saginaw pump. Thanks

Saginaw, according to the Orielly site, the hose they supplied is correct for the Saginaw pump.

The only way it would clear if it was an absolute 90 degree about a quarter inch from the line nut. No way I could bend it that much within such a short radius without kinking it. It's got be another hose needed I just can't figure which one. Thanks.

I need some help here. I assume I need another pressure just don't know which one. All accessories including hose is off a 1970 Barracuda 318 and all is being installed on a 1971 Demon 340. Both applications show me the same part # for the pressure hose. I'm stuck.

Ok so I am starting to build my 340 for my 71 Demon and I'm looking at my accessories donor 318 (70 barracuda) I notice that my mounts don't match up to the Demon subframe. Can someone enlighten me as to what is my issue and how to correct it please..? It doesn't have the holes for the cross...
