    am fm radio

Some of these have a string on a set of wheels that control tuning. If the tuner is turned pass the stop point the string can slip on the wheels throwing the calibration of the tuner out. If you can only receive one station in the upper register this may be what has happened with your radio.

If you can't find anyone here to fix it, there is a guy in Pa. named Mike Frenchek at Retro Radio that can repair or upgrade it for you.

I bought a speaker from Year One

Year One has very good customer service and are excellent at standing behind their products. I've had more than one experience with returning items to them and they have been stellar on all accounts. Case in point.... some people may remember the 68/69 fan shrouds that egged shaped after a few...

seat and steering wheel ?s name these seats

The seats look nice, I have no idea who makes them but they look better than most everything that Chrysler offered from 70-74. The steering wheel looks like a rallye wheel for A and B bodies from 68/69. I`ve seen more with a woodgrain finish than the black finish.

    Adding Headrests

Most of the seat frames are bored for headrests whether they are installed or not. You`ll need the chrome escutcheons, the plastic bases, and the metal spring clamps that mount inside the seat frame. The hardware for bench seats is different for the hardware for bucket seats. The headrests...

67 or 68 Barracuda Instrument Cluster Bezel

That's a `68 dash indeed. It was probably easier for the previous owner to find a black `68 version than a red `67. Unless you've owned your car since it was new there's just no telling what has happened to these cars in the last 40+ years.

What do you guys do for a stereo?

I had my AM radio converted into a 4 x 45 watt AM/FM stereo with auxillary inputs. I also have a modern receiver/CD under the dash feeding two 4 x 6`s in the kick panels, two 6 x 9`s in the rear of the car and a powered sub that`s hidden under the passenger seat. If I keep the engine vacuum high...

    No more dash pad

Looks great the way you did that! If you ever decide to replace the padding, I`ve heard of people fixing the cracks in their dash pads with fiberglass then covering them with a thin vinyl that gets stretched over and glued down. The result is very close to original.

need help taking out the dash

There are screws right up against the edge of the windshield that need to be removed and then the dash will pivot to the inside on the two large bolts located above the kick panels. Somewhere on the site here is a thread about a fellow that has removed a dash from underneath by cutting the bolts...

Repairing seat tear in center of driver seat- permatex repair kit or...?

I`ve used the Permatex kit before on a blue interior. It was on a dash pad and not a flexible area like a seat bottom. It took me about half a dozen times to get the color close to correct and the patch was still visible. If I were you I`d follow your other suggestion and install a piece of...

    LED dash lights

This is it, the bulbs are about $5.00 each. http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Fspecs%2Fwled-whp6.htm My rallye dash took 4 bulbs to illuminate the gauges, 8 in all if you want to do signal lights, high beam indicator, and parking brake...

    LED dash lights

After seeing RogerK`s post I went to superbrightleds and bought the (6 bulb) led light bulbs in white. I installed them in a rallye dash. I left the blue lenses on. The lights are much brighter now, probably 100% or more. I would definitely recommend them. If you went with a white background the...

    Rallye Dash Help.

The wiring harness is different in the rallye dash cars too, so make sure you have the correct harness or the correct plugs to adapt yours to the new cluster.

Did 68 Darts come with shoulder belts

Yes, they were optional. They mount up by the coat hangers and are stored by clicking the buckle into a connector that is part of the sun visor anchor.

    Vinyl Patches?

You can find replacement headliners online for less than $100.00. Buy a can of spray glue and away you go. They`re not that hard to install, just a little patience.

    Door panel backers

The 1/8 th" masonite sounds like a viable choice. In addition to the vinyl sheeting as 2 Darts mentioned, you could always give it a coat of marine varnish to waterproof it before you install the covers.

New carpet problem- mass backing issue

I think that even if it takes an extra week or two to get the carpet put in it`s worth it. Do it once and do it right. It sounds as if the carpet manufacturer may have a genuine interest in finding out just where things went wrong. I put Dynamat Extreme down in my Barracuda...

New carpet problem- mass backing issue

I`d send it back. That looks like a half-assed job. If nobody calls them on the crap they`re peddling to the public then they`ll continue to push crap like that. You are right, it`s your hard-earned money and you should get what you paid for. Send it back, get them to pay shipping both ways and...
