New exhaust doesn't sound all that great

    How about a sound clip?

Hate my mufflers (Pypes Street Pro). What about FM 50 series

I know there is a thread somewhere on here about making balance Tubes that eliminate or reduce resonance. I have summit turbos, xpipe and full length 2.5" exhaust and have drone. Not as bad as the 3" super 44 on my truck, but there.

2014 Summit Racing 2.5" dual kit

I thought the kit went together well. The joints are nice. I did spend a little time with the grinder on all the male ends so they slipped in easy. The clamps are cheap. The ones that come in the kit have 1/2" nuts. Clamps from Napa have 9/16".

    Finished the exhaust yesterday.

2014 Summit Racing 2.5" dual kit

I was looking hard at those. The street pros are a chambered design and have reports of drone. The race pros are the quietest and are built like a magna flow or dyno max straight through, The violators are the loudest. I have read really good things about the Race Pro mufflers and the overall...

2014 Summit Racing 2.5" dual kit

Got some work done today. Stiff have to tweak some of the joints and finish the head pipes but I am pretty happy with how it turned out. Being from very rural MT my o lyrics option for one head pipe was a crush bent 20-30* elbow to connect to the driver side tri-y. Only one shop in town and it...

    Muffler Options

Could you go with a bigger chambered muffler like flowmaster 50series? Quieter than 40 series. They Also Make The HP2 series.

2014 Summit Racing 2.5" dual kit

All I have done is open the boxes. I paid 440 for everything. 100 for tips, 90 X pipe and 250 for kit.

2014 Summit Racing 2.5" dual kit

Yes. I have the Schumacher headers so I k ow I will need to make head pipes plus the x-pipe kit will add more challenge.

2014 Summit Racing 2.5" dual kit

The other pieces I also picked the summit universal X pipe kit and pypes slip on rectangle exhaust tips.

2014 Summit Racing 2.5" dual kit

As the title states. I came home to a box on the steps. This is the current summit dual exhaust kit. The mufflers are Imco T911. The clamps appear to be quite cheap. The mufflers have some heft and do not neck down insde.

    Which mufflers?

I just went through this. Agonizing over which one by listening to every sound clip, searching forums for reviews, combing the Internet for anuthing. After weeks I was even more befuddled then when I started. I finally just settled on a summit dual system and universal x-pipe kit. I hope I like it.

    Header back exhaust kits?

Looking at a pypes kit. I want to keep the volume down. Was thinking of doing flowmaster 50 ' s if I didn't do a kit.

Just curious what you folks think of the full exhaust kits offered for the 67+ A bodies? Looking at heartthrob, summit, jegs, pypes, flowmaster... any others?

    Big Single exhaust?

I haven't found any clips of a mopar v8 with a big single exhaust, but have found a number of small block camaros with a 4" exhaust. Here is a clip of a healthy sounding 383 wi 4" split to dual 3" tips... http://youtu.be/B_5gIZaIugE *** found dyno video, 392/371 at 200* engine temp.

Suggestions for muscle car sound muffler without drone

I used to compete in SPL competitions and we tried to tune our ported boxes to the resonant frequency of the vehicle we were using. Easier said than done sometimes.

    Big Single exhaust?

I'm thinking about this for my 68 notch w/ mild 440. Can't find a sound byte or video of a muscle car with a big single... Which fuels my desire to do it even more.

    Big Single exhaust?

It is all about flow, and a single 3.5" will flow the same as dual 2.5". No need for X or H. One less muffler. Less expense. With mandrel bends available online, I am not sure why it isn't more common. Tradition?

    Big Single exhaust?

Anybody run a big single exhaust? I was planning on dual 2.5", but got to wondering about a big single. I have a 4" cat back on my daily driver f150.

Suggestions for muscle car sound muffler without drone

I wonder if an H pipe would have helped since the plugging the tiny heat cross over created a spike in the drone.
