    Jetting and timing question

If you want to actually see what your initial timing is set at you need to get a dial back timing light. I picked up a nice one at a pawn shop for $13.00

Ram or Dakota air cleaner on a-body

Yeah I don’t know who’s setup that is, or what year/model parts were used. Or what mods if any had to be made to the inner fender, or just the hole in the radiator support

Ram or Dakota air cleaner on a-body

We’ll yeah that’s a good start and you can’t beat the price . I was thinking of taking it a bit further and try to draw air from in front of the radiator support or from the fender well. Possibly use the whole air filter box like this pic.

Ram or Dakota air cleaner on a-body

    Eddy Carb Tuning Help

Do a search of this forum for tuning an Edelbrock 1406. I know there have been several threads covering this. 1406 is the same carb just with electric choke

    Problem with new fuel system

Well this morning fired it up cold, after backing of the regulator, which I had cranked up all the way yesterday. It read about 9 and first, adjusted it back down to 5.5. So I think its just the gauge reading low when it gets hot. After a spirited 1/2 hour drive, it's reading about 3lbs. Keep in...

    Problem with new fuel system

It’s just your basic Holley chrome 3/8 filter. Supposed to be 40 micron, but doesn’t show a gph rating. Do I need one of the 100 gph filters or something like that? Holley Chrome Inline Fuel Filters 162-523

I’ll try that too in the morning. I would like to get that opened up.

    Problem with new fuel system

Ok, I went back to the Summit racing page for the gauge I have and it says right there that as under hood temps go up the reading on the gauge could drop as much as 7-12lbs. So not to worried about It. For now I guess I’ll just check it every time I fire it up cold, and not worry about what it...

    Problem with new fuel system

This is on a 68 dart. It has a very small maybe 1/8” hardline that comes off the side if the filler tube near the top. It winds around in a circle and then follows the filler tube down and through the rubber gasket that’s screwed to the trunk floor. But I’m sure after 50 years that it could be...

    Problem with new fuel system

Hmmmm, my gauge is a cheap Summit liquid filled gauge. It’ll be interesting to start it back up in the morning after it’s cooled down and see what it reads.

    Problem with new fuel system

So my fuel system is like this. Every thing new from the tank to the carb. New 3/8” pickup, 3/8” Holley filter before the pump, Airtex 9psi electric pump mounted below the level of the tank, new 3/8” hardline to the engine bay, then braided steel to the Holley regulator and to the carb. Just...

1973 Dodge Dart Fuel Tank Leaking

I just bought a new tank for my '68 a couple weeks ago. It's a Spectra Premium tank. Checked around several places and Amazon had the best deal on the one I needed. It was $175 and change. Probably good idea to order a new filler pipe seal at the same time. My new tank fit perfect and looks great.

Another Electric Fuel pump wiring question.

Ok, I was just on mymopar and found the wiring schematics for 68. And I just about had it figured out when I saw your reply. So I can just tap into that dark blue wire anywhere, or preferably before it gets to the resistor? And I think I've got the "starter" wire I need, I believe its the...

Another Electric Fuel pump wiring question.

Ok, next question. Where do I pick up, or how do I identify my ignition wire? Any idea what color wire on a 68 dart, or which slot it comes through on the bulkhead connector? I know, wiring is not my thing

Another Electric Fuel pump wiring question.

The pump is an Airtex E8090, just a 9psi, universal, aftermarket pump. Its not a big race pump or something. But I've been all over the internet and cant find anywhere where it tells you how many amps it draws. Only thing I found is where a tech at Summit told a guy to use at least 14ga wire...

Another Electric Fuel pump wiring question.

Ok, I'm doing this today, one way or the other. Its the last thing I need to do to have my car on the road. Been two years since I pulled the 318, and eventually decided to go 5.9 I agree that he 30amp circuit breaker is way overkill. It's just what came with the Summit relay kit. Seems we all...

Another Electric Fuel pump wiring question.

So doing the wiring for my electric pump on my Dart, to feed my new 5.9 I was going to follow the basic wiring diagram below that I printed off a "how to build hot rods" website. It shows wiring through a relay, and oil pressure switch, which I am doing. (but shows no breakers or fuses) My...

    68 Dart Gas tank removal

So on a 68 Dart, how do I get the filler tube out of the tank? Cant pull it out through the qtr panel because on this year it comes up to the inside of the panel and screws to the panel from the outside. Thought I would just leave the filler tube in place and lower the tank and slide it off...

    Throttle Linkage

Don't think you need to worry about the length, cause you're going to cut them to fit anyway. Just remember to take the inner cable out before you cut the cable housing to length (don't ask). Here's a pic of what I used on my car (see above pics) This will give you the part numbers for the...

    Throttle Linkage

No, you do not need the adapter if going lokar. I just installed the Lokar setup on my 5.9 and the instructions show connecting all their stuff to the carb without the use of an adapter. Heres a couple of pics of my finished setup. After adjustments I had the wife mash down the gas pedal while I...

    More fuel system questions

So putting together the new system to feed the 5.9 I wanted to reuse the edelbrock chrome fuel line and aluminum filter that I already had on the car when it was a 318. I'll be using a new 3/8" tank pick up, then a filter of some type(haven't purchased that yet), then the carter fuel pump, and...

Available adapter to use 340 air cleaner on Carter BBD?

Probably not very many people out there that want to run a 4bbl air cleaner on a 2bbl. So I really don’t think it would be worth anyone’s time and effort to make such a piece. I’m sure the plastic one will last long enough to do your break in.

    air breather hose

You might do like I did to find a lower radiator hose for my 5.9 swap. Just went to Advance auto parts and asked if I could look through their hoses to match something up. Might not be the factory correct hose, but you'd probably find something that would work.

Bypass vs Deadhead fuel pressure regulator question.

So cant decide if I want or need a return line in my new system. Going to run new 3/8 hardline from my new 3/8" pickup in tank to engine bay, add a regulator and gauge. Engine is a freshly rebuilt, basically stock 5.9, with airgap and eddy 1406, dougs headers. The electric pump I have is a...

Where to mount wideband O2 sensor.

So doing some work on my exhaust after the 5.9 swap. Adding an Innovate LC-1 air/fuel gauge. The instructions say to mount the o2-sensor 24" back from the exhaust port, and then it says (collector). So does it mean in the collector, 24" from the exhaust ports. Or 24" back from where the...
