    Alignment Help

Good luck getting caster anywhere near where you want it without buying adjustable control arms. 3-4 degrees is great but you'll never get that much from your starting point. Fortunately it's not really a pulling or tire wear angle, but it does keep the vehicle tracking straight and with less...

Need upper control arms - where to find them?

I went with RMS. Ordered them 7-12-18. Called a few days ago and he says they're due to be shipped Friday. I said really? I ordered them two weeks ago and you haven't shipped them yet? He says we were all at Carlisle, no one was in the office. So nice of you to put that on your website so...

Need upper control arms - where to find them?

I have used the search function, but it wasn't much help. I need UCAs for my 73 Dart Sport. Money is an issue unfortunately. Who has them available at a decent price? I'd love some adjustable arms, but I can always use adjustable bushings. I prefer new because I had threading problems last time...

    Frame rails

I did Mopar Performance. You would think since Mopar is in the name that they would fit a Mopar pretty well, but they didn't. I bought the bolt in style and they didn't line up well. I ended up trimming and drilling, then bolting and welding them in. In a nutshell, I don't recommend them.

Any way to get more caster adjustment without newer adjustable CA?

My cost at O'Reilly is $34.70 as a wholesale customer. I bought all my parts on Amazon for a ton less. These bushings are $24.02 with free two day prime shipping since I'm a prime member. Man, I love Amazon.

Any way to get more caster adjustment without newer adjustable CA?

Yup. Positive. Spec is -2.0 to +3.0, more positive being better. Some people say up to 5 degrees is sometimes necessary. I can get mine to zero, but that's all the adjustment I can get. It tracks pretty well, and I don't know if I'll tear it apart again this year, but I think I want to get it a...

Any way to get more caster adjustment without newer adjustable CA?

Your idea sucks, but only because those bushings are a pain in the *** and I just did them. Had I known the offsets were available I would have bought them right away. Oh well. Live and learn ... and do things twice. Thanks Beast!

Any way to get more caster adjustment without newer adjustable CA?

I had my 73 Dart Sport on the hoist for a few weeks while the transmission was being rebuilt so I took advantage of the hoist time and put in all new Moog front end parts. I mean everything. Upper and lower ball joints, upper and lower control arm bushings, idler arm, pitman arm, inner and out...

Cal Tracs rear suspension or multi-link suspension kit?

I run Caltracs, mono leafs, rear adjustable shocks and 90/10 front shocks. The ride is not harsh, but it's not like I'm driving a luxury vehicle. It's a street / strip car. If you want a great ride, you're all driving the wrong cars. I hook up well with Nitto NT555R drag radials. If I am on the...

    Electric powersteering?

I would just like to point out how many of these steering modules / motors we have replaced on Saturn Vues and GM cars in general. I don't have enough fingers and toes. It is a very common failure part. I'm not sure I would use this particular part, but electronic power steering is intriguing.

    BAD Cal Trac spring

Call Calvert Racing. They are very helpful. Plus, you can buy half springs from them. I bought mine from my brother and they were too low. I called Calvert and they found his info, saw what they were and sold me two back halves to raise it the height I wanted. Great guys there.

I'm going to PM you for an email address. I can scan the list and send it to you easier that way.

    Which parts?

You want part numbers? I am doing my 73 Dart Sport, so I have all the Moog numbers. I'm not doing the torsion bars, but I have all the steering parts, ball joints and control arm bushings.

    Which parts?

I work at a shop, and I can't buy Moog parts as cheap as they are on Amazon. I priced my entire front end - ball joints, tie rods, idler, pitman, control arm bushings, etc. It was around $280. That is what I am going with.

    Electric power steering?

What fails is the module. You have to buy the whole lower steering column to get it. We replace so many, and they were backordered for a long time. If the aftermarket ever gets into it you can bet they will try to solve the inherent problems. Until then, we put a factory part back in that is...

    Electric power steering?

Do any of you know how many of these units I replace each week due to mechanical failure? This is the crappiest of all the electric power steering units. There should be a recall. There was a rumor of a class action lawsuit being started because they fail all the time.

    adjustable strut rod???

I have them on my Dart. Adjustable and the heim joint helps with front end movement. The first thing I did when I got my Dart 3 years ago was put in a Dana 60, Caltracs, mono leafs and adjustable strut rods. The front end comes up easily on accel and settles smoothly when it comes down. I am...

are my rear leaf springs still good?

I hate extension shackles. I put Caltracs and Calvert Racing mono leafs from my brother's Cuda on my Dart. They weren't high enough for me. I called Calvert Racing and they were as helpful as could be. They asked all sorts of questions and eventually sold me back half springs with the lift I...

    Front alignment questions.

You can program in whatever specs you want. It has the factory specs of course, but you can type in whatever you want. 67dart273, I have seen intelligent posts from you quite often. I respect your opinion, but if you say to use scrap wood, nails and a tape measure to do an alignment, that is...

    Front alignment questions.

Then you are going to the wrong shop. And I can guarantee even a junior tech with a modern alignment machine can do a better alignment than a couple pieces of scrap wood and a nail. A tenth of a degree can be a difference in an alignment. $60 is worth it to protect your investment. We put in a...

    Front alignment questions.

An alignment is like $60. There is no need to use wood, strings, paper clips, turnbuckles, tissue paper or spit. You spent a lot of money on the front end and tires. Get it properly aligned. Most shops understand you have a car that is not their usual and will let you watch or even drive it in...

    Woo-hoo! Look what came yesterday!

I don't notice any difference in ride quality or traction. I had them set fairly stiff and the launch was the same. I softened it up and it didn't make a lot of difference. I am going to try all the way stiff and all the way soft and then decide where I want it to be. By the way, they went in...

    Woo-hoo! Look what came yesterday!

After a lot of debate and a serious look at my finances, I went with the best I could afford. I got the 9 way adjustable Calvert Racing rear shocks and the 90/10 front shocks. I am planning on installing them this afternoon. I can't wait to see how well they work!

Well. I bit the bullet and ordered from Calvert Racing. 90/10 front shocks and 9 way adjustable rear. The prices were pretty fair in comparison to most. Now I play the waiting game waiting for them to arrive. I didn't want to pay the additional $218 for next day AM delivery.
