Offy intake with GM 3800 supercharger adapted

i was just talking about that here at work. Two issues I see. If you adapted the carb to the supercharger, the fuel would be more rich at the front cylinders and very lean at the rear cylinders. Plus, you need oil to seal the vanes in the supercharger and fuel running through would wash that...

Offy intake with GM 3800 supercharger adapted

I agree. I thought the price was very reasonable. And it comes with a 625 cfm Demon carburetor with electric choke.

Offy intake with GM 3800 supercharger adapted

I saw this on a group I'm part of on Facebook. Thought it might look good on the 70 Duster. Offy 4 bbl intake with adapter plate and GM 3800 supercharger. Looks pretty sweet, and he wants $650 for it. If anyone is interested, I can get the info on it for you.

POLL: Which is your favorite carb(s) of choice?

Since my Holley is once again dumping fuel from the secondaries due to needle and seat issues, and the fact that I adjust it several times a month, Holley is not at the top of my list. I never had an issue and never once adjusted my Edelbrocks. I would dearly love to try a Demon carb.

    Holley vs. Eddy

A 1405 is an electric choke 600 cfm, correct? That should be fine and should not run rich. I ran a 1406 on my 318, 268h cam, headers, etc .... I hated the Flowmaster 10's, by the way. Way loud and I had a rap on decell, so I went to 3" with an H pipe and Flowmaster 40 series. My 600 Eddy was...

    Holley vs. Eddy

X3. I love my Eddies for set and forget, but I am running a Holley now. I adjust it all the time, but I like the power.

Eddy 1406 pissing me off (LOL)

I have always used a spacer on my 1406 and never had a problem. I just put it on my Ramcharger with no spacer last week. We'll see how it goes. I love my Eddy carbs. I never have to adjust them ever. My Holley I'm adjusting every other week.

    fuel additives for winter storage?

You only store it for what? 5 months? That's what I do. You really don't need anything. Sta-bil used to tell you on their website that their product would last 2-4 weeks. I drop in a bottle of Seafoam, drive for a while, and park it. Seafoam is a gas stabilizer and a detergent, so it's good for...

    Fuel overflowing!?!?

I see this a lot on the newer cars with emission systems. The fuel tank vent clogs and there is nowhere for the air to go and the pressure shuts off the pump. Most of our cars have had gas pumped in so many times the fuel filler isn't exactly a ... how should I say this ... tight fit? So that...

Any idea how to get fittings out of aluminum intake?

Well, heat and cold didn't seem to work, so I stuck to heat. I'm torn ... happy that it came out, unhappy that it took all that aluminum with it.

Any idea how to get fittings out of aluminum intake?

I forgot to bring it with me today to use the torch. I've been soaking it with PB Blaster all weekend. I've used my impact tightening and loosening off and on all Sunday. I tried cheater bars to lengthen the wrench. Slippage is not a problem, so I don't see the advantage of a pipe wrench, other...

Any idea how to get fittings out of aluminum intake?

I am throwing an old Performer intake and carb on my Ramcharger. I have to move the nipple for the heater hose and need to remove it and a plug, neither of which will turn. I've soaked them in penetrating oil, tried extending the wrench for more leverage, and against my better judgement I used a...

    e85

I talk to Rob Mix from E85carbs all the time. I'll probably see him at the car show tonight. He is extremely knowledgeable and fun to talk to. I am buying my carb from him, but he will build yours as well. You should see some of his motors. He had a blown, dual carbed behemoth in Car Craft...

    Holley Swap?

I hear so much about the Holleys being so good. It's a tough choice. I had an Edelbrock 600 and then an 800. They were awesome. Set it and forget it. I never had to adjust either one of them. Because at some point I am going E85 and they run on a Proform body, I switched to a Holley 750DP so all...

    Dorman Fuel Sender Reviews?

50 years is all? They just don't make cars like they used to. We use some Dorman products at the shop. I can't say I have seen any problems with them. Also, the update their products to fix known common problems. Give it a shot, what can it hurt?

    Thoughts on Fuel Line Size

X2. Why not go bigger? You are running all new line. You can flow less volume through it, but you can't flow more volume through a smaller line. I am planning (still) at some point to go to E85 fuel and I have to run 5/8 or -10 to the fuel pump for that.

K&N, but make sure you clean it and don't oil it too heavily. I've seen guys with oil dripping off the filter element.

    Inertia vs Oil Pressure Switch

They just fail. Car gets towed in for crank no start. You get down to fuel pressure - it's zero. Oh, needs a fuel pump! Not. Check power and ground and you don't have them. I'm sure there are aftermarket inertia switches that are better quality, but don't buy a Ford unit.

    Inertia vs Oil Pressure Switch

Tough call. My only experience is the hundreds of inertia switches I have replaced on Fords. I assume anyone and everyone can make a part better than Ford, but it still makes me worry.

Does a car need a PVC valve?

Last year I changed from an Edelbrock to a Holley and lost a vacuum port. I left the pcv disconnected and remember thinking I will let it breathe on it's own until I could get a breather filter. I was 15 miles down the road when the light bulb in my head went on and I remembered the pcv won't...

Anyone ever done dyno check Holley vs. Edelbrock?

I have never seen a dyno comparison, and my comparisons aren't exactly fair. I ran an Eddy 650 that I loved. I ran and Eddy 850 that lit that motor up but was really too much carb. Once on and set I never had to tinker with an Edelbrock. I run a Holley 750 DP now. I feel it has less power, but...

    Carb Selection

My Eddy 800 was too much for the motor. Too much fuel is just as power robbing as too little. An 850 is capable of dumping a LOT of fuel. Can't hurt to try. Especially if you have another carb to swap and try if you don't like it. You are going to love your stroker. The torque is absolutely...

    Carb Selection

I run an RPM air gap and my compression is 11.8:1. I ran an Edelbrock 800 for a year and had no issues, other than a rich condition which...

My new home fabricated ram air

I like the idea. I'll have to strap my wife under the hood while driving to make sure the spring pressure is right. Can't have it opening too soon or too late. I knew I'd find a use for her sooner or later.

My new home fabricated ram air

There are no studs. There are threaded holes. I had them repaired when I first installed the scoop. We used bumper glue and 1/4 - 20 threaded inserts. They worked for a year and a half. I re glued them in with JB weld and they held up to 120 mph. I am thinking of drilling a slightly larger hole...

My new home fabricated ram air

It worked very well at keeping my engine temps down. They were a good 15 degrees cooler. The ram air seemed to work very well up until my hood scoop blew off from the pressure at 120 mph. I am not a happy guy. Now I have an ugly hole in my hood and a stupid velocity stack coming out of it.
