I have experimented with shifting. I tried shifting sooner to take advantage of torque at lower rpms, but in the end it seems to get the best times when I shift instinctively. It's hard to watch the tach when you're hammering down the track anyway.

Peak horsepower is 5900 rpm. Peak torque around 3900 - 4300 rpm. Never looked to see what the rpm was at the traps. I have never done rpm shift testing. Don't even know what that is.

The widths are not the same. 255 and 275, and the height is relative to the width. the taller tire will definitely have a bigger footprint. Though what that has to do with my 1/4 mile times, I don't understand. The shorter tires never spin - they hook perfectly until the track conditions...

I work in a shop and sell tires. Cooper does not make the BFG. The Cooper tires, while good for the price, always turned me off with the looks of that little Cobra snake. You will get a lot of use out of your BFG's. Let's see some pics!

BFG is slowly discontinuing the Radial TA. I run them in a P295/50R15 on my car and the last set lasted two full years. I burn the hell out of them and they never wear out. That is the big plus. I road force balanced them. The wheels are no longer true. My drag radials on the steel wheels were smooth as a baby's butt. It's my daily driver rims that are giving me trouble.

I run four wheel disc brakes on my Dart and have 15" wheels. I don't know about this particular brand. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you like the look and they fit, I say buy them. It's only money. You'll make more.

The 4.5 backspace, -22 offset is what I use on the rear, and about a 3.5 backspace -13 offset on the front. I like the look of those JD wheels, too. I just have never heard of them, and I love the price. Oh, and no wheelies .... yet. I'm working on that.
