    Throttle Cable Wanted...

I have a buddy who owns a '65 Polara 4-door hardtop (yes, not an A-Body). He's looking for a replacement throttle cable for his 383. He has a 4 BBl Edelbrock and 727 Auto. He can't seem to find one at any parts store, so I thought I'd check on FABO too see if anyone has, or knows where he can...

    Trouble Starting after sitting

Thanks for all the advice. I decided to rebuild the carburetor a few weeks ago, and my starting problem seems to be solved. I let the car sit for a week after the rebuild, and then tried starting it. The car fired up after only 3 seconds with 2 pumps. I'll keep testing it, but being able...

    Trouble Starting after sitting

If I find a crack, is there any way of fixing it? My guess would be no. If even did have a crack, why would it be leaking on all sides? It almost seems like the walls of the carb are acting like sponges i.e. soaking up the fuel and perspiring it on the outside of the carb.

    Trouble Starting after sitting

Thanks. I just tested an old 2 bbl carter from my old Duster. It's leaking as well, but more from the top (not the sides).

    Trouble Starting after sitting

OK, after a week of waiting, I finally pooped the top of the carb off to see how much fuel was in the bowls. Well, it was practically empty. So, somehow I'm losing fuel as the car sits. Yes, evaporation is a possibility, so I tested this theory. What I found was something else. Last...

    Trouble Starting after sitting

I've been having a reoccurring issue since May with my car refusing to start after sitting more than 5 days. I used to be able to let this car sit for months at a time and start it up with only one pump of the gas pedal. Now, I can't let the car sit more than 3-4 days, or it won't start...

    Bad Fuel Pump? or....

Replaced the fuel pump yesterday, the car starts just fine now. Only a $19.99 fix.

    Bad Fuel Pump? or....

I've thought of this, but it is not the case. I've let this car sit for months at a time and started it with only one pump. Usually, I can let the car sit for weeks at at time and start it with one pump and 2 tries with the ignition. Now, it is not starting at all, no matter how many times I...

Yeah, I replaced the fuel filter.

    Bad Fuel Pump? or....

The dart has been acting up lately, i.e. won't start. The only way to get it started, however, is to pour some gas into the carburetor. The car starts, but runs really rough, it doesn't want to idle correctly without pressing on the gas a bit. After a while I can drive it around the block and...

    Sending Unit Float Question

Thanks for the advice all. Yes, ideally I should replace the entire sending unit. However, this is not up to me. My Dad likes to play Mr. fix it and he's hoping my problem is only with the resistance rod. He thinks bending it near the elbow will help with my fuel level misreporting...

    Sending Unit Float Question

Thanks, Demon. I kind of figured fluid in the float is bad, but I just wasn't sure how it got in there in the first place. No visible leaks along the seam. Is the plastic somehow porous, perhaps? I haven't been able to find just a float by itself from a local auto shop, only the entire...

    Sending Unit Float Question

Hello, I have a '68 Dart 270. For quite a while now the fuel gauge has always read about E, even with over half a tank of gas. Now, I've taken the sending unit out to see what the problem is. I immediately noticed some fluid inside the plastic float, I assume it's gasoline. Is that normal...
