    Accusump installed on B motor

It runs into the back of the NPT fitting. The sump has a one way valve the allows it to fill and then discharge later when either you activate the switch or if left on, when the oil pressure drops.

    Accusump installed on B motor

I thought I would share a few pics for future reference for other members. I used Riv nuts in the inner fender well to mount the band clamps and Aeroquip fittings. It’s a 2 quart system. Note; I have a Victor intake on and I have the rear of the hood kicked up about half an inch. Andrew

    Oil Accumulators

there are 2 oil ports on the big block on the back at the top, one side (drivers side) I used for the oil pressure gauge and the other has an npt plug. That is the one that I plan to use. I believe AndyF mentioned the same above. Andrew

    Oil Accumulators

I have a 2 quart system that I need to install. I was planning on installing on the inside of the passenger side fender. The trunk idea is making me rethink. I also plan to plumb into the back of the block. Andrew

Victor intake on a B motor and stock hood

Yes. It was a whole new motor build (still based on the 400). The intake from RPM to the Victor was the only thing that changed dimensionally. Andrew

Victor intake on a B motor and stock hood

Here is where I ended up, a bit old school, but it’s worth it in my opinion to get the HP #’s we were after. I can probably take another 1/4” out of it. Andrew

Victor intake on a B motor and stock hood

I managed to get the stock hood to close by kicking up the back of the hood (1/2”), using a drop base and air filter lid. Andrew

    383 Accusump port

I spoke with Canton, and they said I should be fine using the back ports. I have a 400 block with a larger passenger side port. Andrew

    Big block A Body headers

Is that 2 1/2” or 3” to the back Dave?

    Big block A Body headers

I just switched from the 1 3/4” TTI to the 2” step header and it tucks up nicely, but as mentioned above, it leaves you very little room to work. Mine is on a B motor. I am in the process of making up my xpipe this week, I can post a couple of pics if you like. Andrew

Stock big block radiator cooling 700hp

Ha! Roads are pretty good in my area and where we cruise.

Stock big block radiator cooling 700hp

Thanks, I was hoping that someone would chime in who has been successful with the stock radiator configuration. I know there are lots of other factors related to cooling. I know I can ultimately wait and see and try it, it’s the 3 to 4 weeks waiting for one afterwards that I am trying to avoid...

Stock big block radiator cooling 700hp

Figured I would ask the question one last time before dropping $800 on a Griffin Radiator. My last motor was a 511 aluminum headed 10.55 : 1 with 20 degrees initial timing and 34 degrees total, with zero issues with cooling with my stock rad. Motor was built by muscle motors who claimed it was...

    Performer RPM hood clearance

I will be attempting to install my hood this weekend with a victor intake and 950 carb. Doesn’t looks promising, but have an extra flat hood that can be cut if needed. Andrew

    Edelbrock RPM head casting flaw

We managed to get the hole welded up last night and avoided filling the hole to the floor. Water should still flow behind the valve and plug. I figured that I would let my engine builder, finish the blend out as he can monitor the thickness with the sonic tester. We used a 1/16” 5356 filler rod...

    Edelbrock RPM head casting flaw

I spoke with Edelbrock, they said they would review my case and went on to say that they have never had a casting void in these heads since relase in early 2000’s. They did mention that they could possibly give me a discount on a replacement blank. They recommended using a 5356 filler rod. I...

    Edelbrock RPM head casting flaw

Anyone know what type of aluminum the heads are cast of?

    Edelbrock RPM head casting flaw

I agree. Just concerned about blocking the water passage off and how much larger the cavity will get. In the top photo, the grey area is untouched and you can see the wall thickness.

    Edelbrock RPM head casting flaw

Slight blend. Not .240” worth of material by any means. All other ports received the same attention and are as thick as .330”. Port openings are the same. I intitially though it was break through until we sonic checked them. You can still see an area of the original cast.

    Edelbrock RPM head casting flaw

New Engine loaded on the engine run in stand and ready to install the headers. We pressurized the system and a small leak appeared in the corner of #2 exhaust port. We poked at it and a much larger cavity appeared. I purchased these new 10 years ago, so I am doubtful Edelbrock will do anything...

    Canton Accumulator ??

I purchased one and plan to plumb in the back of the block. I have the electric valve and primary reason for purchasing was for cold start ups after storage or long intervals.

Victor intake on a B motor and stock hood

I had about 1/2" between the airbreather with a 1" drop. It should fit with a shorter base. Just curious what others may have done.
