NEW Intake System....what do you think

I hate to be the bearer of bad news....but, you asked. That system is totally wrong for your engine. I don't care what the experts say, it is a poor piece. I will sacrifice my intake and carb to you.....just to be a good guy :D Damn!!!! I'm jealous.:banghead: That is freakin awesome :thumblef:

    up and down idle

I had a vacuum leak that made my truck roll at idle. It was simply a loose carb body bolt. Not sure if a loose shaft could leak, and make it roll also? That badass Duster shouldn't be idling anyway:yawinkle: (this is one of the toughest sounding street cars around)

Carb choice on my new intake

They were tight:director: The shock broke under all the load of the mighty 340 =D> I'm going with Rumbles advice, as He always seems quite knowledgable,:notworth: and I already have the 670. Heads are ported, medium 4 spd cam, and headers, with .030 over 340.

Carb choice on my new intake

Now that I have a new "strip dominator" intake, I need to choose a carb. I currently run a 670 "Street Avenger" on a single plane, and it works quite well. I'm hoping this will still be enough? I make peak HP (378 ) at 6800 now. 5500 to 5800 will be my RPM limit, as I don't need to see parts...

Advise on adding a sump to stock tank

Hey Steve!! You bring the beer, Roid can bring the chips, and I'll get some wings. We better check with Scott, we may have to bring our own lawn chairs. Wally!!! You can run the pool.

Advise on adding a sump to stock tank

There was a good article in "Mopar Action", or one of those, about two years ago. They installed a sump. Have you considered using a brand new tank, or a good used fuel cell? I'd be worried about leaks, when welding an old tank.

Advise on adding a sump to stock tank

The sump goes on the bottom :bootysha: Actually Scott, lots say that there are safe ways to do it, but we had a guy here in Burlington, who ran inert fumes into a tank...he blew up! Don't want to lose you buddy, take it to a pro.(don't be so damn cheap) :toothy10:

Stock 340 is a holley 570 big enough?

I wouldn't go so far as to say they were trash. A lot more is known about them now, compared to their earlier years. I still think the 670 would be ideal for THIS motor.

Stock 340 is a holley 570 big enough?

A 670 Avenger would work great, and will leave you some room for other engine upgrades. the 570 would be ok, but marginal.

    Another Carb Size Question

I run a 670 Street avenger like John mentioned. It was lean out of the box, but it works very very well on my 340, even at 6500 rpm.

    750 cfm for 340?

As I said in the first post. I run a 670 Street Avenger,Vaccum secondary carb, and it is great. I did run a 750, and it worked great also. If you go 750, you should go double pump to avoid a bog, and you will want to rev that sucker(tall gears, headers, etc).

    750 cfm for 340?

Yes, it can be set up to work quite well. Especially with tall gears, and good heads, cam, and headers. I used one with a single plane intake, and had good luck. My current engine(340) uses a 670 Street Avenger, and it works even better than the 750. The old spreadbore Carters were rated at, what...

    Help w/340 carb selection

Well John....you have frightened me into sending mine out to be done. It is a 68 also, but for a 4/spd(glad I don't have kickdown to worry about), and I want it to work like new. SOoo....thanks for that$$$ LOL (hopefully, you will get yours right, and I can pick your brain, to...
