    I think the comp has a shorter throw...and is more rugged. The levers look longer on the one.

    Caution!!! Be very careful when removing the over center spring. That sucker is a mean one.

    Welcome aboard. All 1970 4 speeds should be the same, except for 18 spline (Hemi, six pack) units. 4 spd Dusters are very cool.

    130 tooth vs 143

    A 10 1/2 inch flywheel has 130 teeth, while a 11 inch flywheel has 143 teeth. Sounds like yours has 130 teeth, which is quite ok in your car, with that clutch. It probably is better, since there is less rotating weight, which equates to easier shifting.

    Strength of a a-833 with a 25 spline output

    I just picked a 25 spline trany out of the neighbors barn.It was behind a 340, around 350 hp. The output shaft is broke. He claims a broken trany mount caused the break. Could be, but I wouldn't trust one, this shaft snapped like kindling.

    I have an 833 that I found in my neighbors barn. It is dated 2-20-66. The output shaft is smaller dia. than mine. I thought they only made one size output. It came with a splined yoke that accepts 7260 joints. Can anyone shed light on the application this may have been used in? Thanks guys...

    Shifting problem with 833

    I had the same problems with mine. A decent rebuild with new bearings, and definately a new pilot bushing, cured the gremlins. While you are at it, it's good to check the alignment of the input shaft to the pilot hole. This was quite reasonable(300 bucks) and included all seals, and gaskets. I...
