Have you ever seen any Dart, Valiant, Demon or Duster with a rear window defroster?

My 74 current 74 duster has the electric grid type. Also has the fold down rear seat option which is why the grid type. (I'm thinking). Not a duster but my 69 valiant more door has the blower motor type rear defrost

    67 Valiant Windshield

Seems like converting it to the stainless trim is a lot better than messing with that plastic chrome stuff that seems nearly impossible to get ahold of. Thanks for all the insight

    67 Valiant Windshield

So I am going to need a windsheild gasket to do my dash swap. 67 and 68 are calling for the same part number but if I recall, there was something goofy about the original 67 Gasket. The 68 to 76 will work on a 67 ?

    Painting over Powder coating

You guys already replied similar the way I would. 80 grit, 180 grit, and re paint. I never liked powder coating, waste of money when painting can give the same result of prepped right.

    Full front clip parts list

That is correct, in the same year there is no difference between dart sport 29 and dart 23 models. But there is a difference between 73/4 parts and 75/6.

    Full front clip parts list

I'm pretty sure the "beak" is different from 73/4 to 75/6. Also the lower grille mount is specific to 73/4 and 75/6 I had to replace some pieces on this 75 dart and at first I had 73 pieces and side by side, they were different. I had to hunt down the 75/6 specific pieces. Just an...

Price for 1972 Full Front Clip?

Maybe in 1990, nobody reproduces anything for 75/6 and hardly anyone saved that stuff. Good 1975 and 1976 parts and cars are almost non existent these days. Too many 73 and up cars got converted like the one in the OP and the original stuff got tossed. To even find a nice dart sport these...

    Dart swinger drip rail weatherstripping

So I have a 75 dart and I decided to swap the doors from the original plastic trim doors with the heavy *** impact beams to the traditional metal top doors I had off a really messed up 71 dart. After I got the door mounted with the hinges from the 75, it was spung a bit when opened. I...

To clear or not to clear.....

I would leave it, I would'nt try to remove the orange peel either, once you cut it with a fine sandpaper, it's never going to be the same and will be hard to buff and you risk burning through. Just leave it, noting wrong with a little orange peel, lot of cars were sold new with some orange...

    Anyone know what these are?

In 69 I believe they rivet on but the later ones 71ish and up bolt on.

    Duster floor pans???

75 is the only different because 75 is the first year they used a catalytic convertor so the floor plan has an indention under the driver side front seat where the catalytic convertor would reside. Odds are your catalytic convertor is long gone, long ago. You can Just weld a 70 to 74 floor...

    1969 valiant trim question

My 69 valiant 4 door doesn't have that trim either but it's a V100, very basic model with no options or trim

    1972 demon vs duster.

One has slots for the bumper jack and the other does not(I don't remember which year had which one) Otherwise they are dimensionally the same and will bolt up
  14. Princess Valiant

    1972 demon vs duster.

The rear bumper should work from a 73 to a 72. 73 was the last year for that style of rear bumper Only the rear bumper, the front bumper is going to be completely different
  15. Princess Valiant

    1972 demon vs duster.

70 to 72 doors are metal tops, 73+ have the plastic trim. The inner door handle assembly is completely different. So is say negatory on the doors Oil can energy absorbers started in 74 although not all 74s have them

    Locks and ignition locks.

So I found this lock set hiding in a drawer that I bought awhile back. My current put together car is 72 so makes me wonder...... what's the difference between a lock set labeled 70/1 and later locks ?? Will this set work on a 72 or should I just order another set that would be labeled 72 to...

    Swinger emblems without the flower

69 was the first year for the swinger. The really early ones had a black and white swinger decal. I had one with a black and white decal and the car had a build date of 10/68. Then sometime at the beginning of the calender year 69 they had a reflective swinger decal.

How "Anal" Are You With Respect to Runs in Paint?

I'd sand and repaint, that would bug me and I wouldn't let it slide. Just because you can't see something doesn't mean it isn't there. I have done "body work" on oil pans before because they shouldn't have any dents and then painted them with the same process you would paint the car with...

First attempt at real bodywork. Tips?

You are absolutely right to black flag him until the car is inspected and safe as it can be. You remind me of when my adoptive dad black flagged my dart off the road because of a corroded brake line when I was kid starting out with cars. Got it fixed and back on the road safely.
