So I am going to need a windsheild gasket to do my dash swap. 67 and 68 are calling for the same part number but if I recall, there was something goofy about the original 67 Gasket. The 68 to 76 will work on a 67 ?

You guys already replied similar the way I would. 80 grit, 180 grit, and re paint. I never liked powder coating, waste of money when painting can give the same result of prepped right.

That is correct, in the same year there is no difference between dart sport 29 and dart 23 models. But there is a difference between 73/4 parts and 75/6.

In 69 I believe they rivet on but the later ones 71ish and up bolt on.

75 is the only different because 75 is the first year they used a catalytic convertor so the floor plan has an indention under the driver side front seat where the catalytic convertor would reside. Odds are your catalytic convertor is long gone, long ago. You can Just weld a 70 to 74 floor...

One has slots for the bumper jack and the other does not(I don't remember which year had which one) Otherwise they are dimensionally the same and will bolt up

69 was the first year for the swinger. The really early ones had a black and white swinger decal. I had one with a black and white decal and the car had a build date of 10/68. Then sometime at the beginning of the calender year 69 they had a reflective swinger decal.

There's one on fleabay right now. They are really hard to come by. When I was looking for one to replace a broken one on my 75 swinger they were almost impossible to find

Electric DA sander. Gets rid of the annoying compressor, eliminates the dangers of wet chemicals, and works great. Harbor freight has them for 40 bucks

You are absolutely right to black flag him until the car is inspected and safe as it can be. You remind me of when my adoptive dad black flagged my dart off the road because of a corroded brake line when I was kid starting out with cars. Got it fixed and back on the road safely.

If I can do it , anyone can because I'm the last person on the planet who would be likely to be welder/ metal fabber LOL
