So I found this lock set hiding in a drawer that I bought awhile back.

My current put together car is 72 so makes me wonder...... what's the difference between a lock set labeled 70/1 and later locks ??

Will this set work on a 72 or should I just order another set that would be labeled 72 to who knows what year?

I am not up on '72 details, but 1970 ignition cylinders have a satin bezel, later versions are shiny.

It's the way the lock cylinder is retained in the housing. The '70-1 lock cylinders use a "knife edge" type spring loaded retainer whereas the '72 up use a round pin to retain the lock cylinder. The door locks will work however.
