68 Cuda grill studs............ Any tips ?

Glad it worked out for you. I think I misspoke earlier at 'T' stud length though. I found a few leftovers while seeking something else. These are only 3/4 long. I had only 1 small issue with this hardware in my 67 grilles. The 'T' studs have a little spring wire on them. There was one spot where...

68 Cuda grill studs............ Any tips ?

Sorry but no I don't. Too many years ago. For pop rivets, 1/8" steel easy pull would be a guess since that is what I find on my workbench today. The OEM welded in studs were replaced with generic "T" studs. #10-24 X 1". Cadmium plated. Stainless flat washers and nuts. My 67 has the same "T"...

    Crack surrounding door striker

Years ago a friend/neighbor had a single reason why he would never own a Chrysler product. He said, "Go to a junk yard and open and close doors on Fords, Chevrolets, etc,,, Then try a few Chryslers. If the door does open, it wont close right". As years went by and my trips to junkyards were...

Does the dash have to be in to install windshield

I reversed the dash mounting hardware when I had my 67 fish apart. I found the threaded neck of the 'U' nut the same height as the nuts head and the screw length didn't really need shortened although I did go ahead and trim one thread off of each at grinder. Still to this day I'm not sure why I...

    Door alignment/sagging

You need to find and fix the problem asap. The sheet metal cracks around the striker posts far too often on the old Chrysler products. They door should not rest/ride/bounce on that post.

    Signal indicators

It indicates the one you can see is working. Doesn't confirm all around are working. Same as the one in the inst' panel. I'm more a fan of a noisy flasher module but todays stereos and ear buds would cancel that out. My 73 Valiant had signals on the hood but I honestly don't believe I ever...

    Signal indicators

My memory aint all that today but... didn't the 68 fish have it's turn indictors on the hood and not the fenders? I never understood the need for the things anyway. They were just repetition of indictors in the inst' panel. Fender mounted turn indicators on fenders on VW Beetle served a purpose.

    Foam behind window chrome

Just that "foam". If my memory serves, it's about 1-inch square and only a filler to prevent a wind noise between that deformed or reshaped a-pillar post and the stainless trim. you might be surprised to find many of these same weatherstrip like materials used in vehicles are available at home...

Hole in inner fender in engine bay?

I think you would be hard pressed to find one not rusted a little there. There is a odd almost L shaped piece of metal there with a hole in it. I'm pretty sure it was used to align the adjacent body parts. Their locating hole allows moisture to get in between their spot welds.

    Installing hood hinge

That is something I have never seen before. Then again I aint seen it all, nor do I know what year model you refer to. If I ever go back into where my 67 model hood hinge pins are, a flat washer and a drilled hole with cotter pin is my plan.

    Scamp License Plate Light

The light fixture and mounting did change at some year model which is something I learned here. Some don't require a metal bracket. Fixture attaches directly to bumper.

    Wing window adjustment

67 model didn't have "allen" hex key screw behind a plastic plug in the upper door section. There is a long chromed phillips head screw there (sort of ratrod looking IMO). What you detailed is 68 and later.

    installing splash shields

Those 2 body bolts under the fender should have large washers that seem like body shims. The gap they create is the drain for all the water coming down from cowl.

How do I get paint mist overspray off my windshield?

If you have one of the ceramic cook tops in the kitchen like we have, you probably have the special cleaner for it. Has the cerium oxide in a compound.

    Notchback rear glass.

We rarely know the full history of a vehicle this old. It could have been back halved with a 67 donor. The hole pattern for that reveal moulding is here in the forum somewhere. I have it in a retired Toshiba laptop but it would take hours to post it. I would even need to get the wife involved...

    Remote mirror controls

If you'll google images, you might find what you are missing. You never stated what model you have so we are limited in what we can offer. Some mirror controllers and other switches were mounted in metal while others were mounted in plastic. I took long cables from a right mirror in 87 Garnd...

    Remote mirror controls

I think someone posted a source for that part in a thread here. Some later models have a tang in the hole in the sheet metal to keep the controller from rotating. Those only got a thin hex nut on the controller. I wouldn't know how to find it or even Google the part since I don't know what its...

1969 Barracuda C pillar panels, interior.

I wish I had a picture to share. Been right there a few times over the years but never snapped a pic. I never found anything holding this odd diamond shaped board in place to the car. Only a scribble of glue holding it to the headliner fabric. They came right out with the headliner. There was a...

    Plymouth letters

I've removed the 67 fish grilles and letters 2 ways. Last time, I pulled the entire header panel/assembly and laid it face down on a blanket. Because I had to 1st pull the tag bracket and front bumper, I'm still undecided which way is easiest. Good luck with it.

    Filling chrome emblems

I've repainted a few different badges. For some of them, cleaning all the old wax, etc.. from tight spots was the hardest part. Brake cleaner and toothpicks. Testors model enamel, small droplets applied and pushed around with a toothpick or a shirt pin. If I do put in too much or not happy...

    Windshield install advice.

Many years ago, when I took my first 67 fish apart, I found the black butyl sealant between body and gasket all the way around both front and rear. Between the gasket and glass was off white stuff like the bedding and glazing compound used at yesteryears wooden framed house windows. When a...

    1967 barracuda vent window channel

Not cheap. the MP part was 55 per door 18 years ago. While the kits were not available a member here used the felt side of adhesive back velcro folded around glass edge. I dont think the plastic guides alone are available although they once were, at ebay, etc... Good luck

    Barracuda rear window gasket question

I don't know if it will lay down or not. Time will tell. We've seen 2nd gen stand open, showing the headliner teeth all the way across the top. I think this is why factory service manuals say install the glass from top down. Make the top and sides look right. Any slack and buckling of gasket...

    1969 Barracuda door glass

It's all about how deep the scratches are. I learned the hard way that polishing deep scratches and pits from a old windshield is a waste of time and money. Side glasses never got the level of sand blasting pits and wiper scratches the a windshield gets. They don't have wipers, so some degree of...

    Hood spring question

Those stakes could be created with a hammer and chisel. Of course the factory production of the hinges required some sort of machine to create those stakes. It may be possible to force the spring to force the stakes apart enough to remove the spring. Might be best to use a hammer and chisel...
