    We're replacing the sterring box on my 90 RAM 4x4 Cummins. How do you remove the steering shaft from the box? The factory manual just says remove it but there's a metal cover on it that doesn't allow access to where you would remove the bolt? How does the cover come off is the real question...

    I was always under the impression you welded them in with your supension loaded? Same with aligning your doors and fenders, but I suppose welding them in at this point would be similar to putting the car on a full frame so that might work just fine? I'm coming up to this stage myself on a vert...

    It stays in. I removed the entire suspension but I started with the torsion bars and no way were they coming out so I carried on, in the end I took off the lca bolt, wacked the lca toward the back of the car until it came off and then the torsiion bar all but fell out. Step one in removing...

    Remove the bolt and give it a few love taps with a 5 lb mini sledge if the crow bar doesn't work, that's what I did. I assume you already have the torsion bar out and the front strut rod bolt removed too.
