The ports on the Cleveland are HUGE. I don't think any small block has bigger ports. Here is some pictures compairing them to ford windsor heads. They also have 2.19" intake valves! Pretty impressive really.

I read once in hot rod magazine that they used a 50/50 mix of water and vineger left the cap off and ran the car at operating temp for maybe 10 minutes? Look into it before you do it obviously.

FWIW, my mileage did not drop signifigantly going from 318 heads to 360 heads. Yes compression makes a difference but not a gigantic one.

That's what mine has the torker 340. I think the intake gets a worse reputation than it really deserves. The air gap would gain you more power though. I personally like having the exhaust crossover though for when it gets colder out.
