If you want it to be "as fast as possible", I'd consider using a 904, if you go auto. Much less parasitic drag. Lots of race cars use them. If you go stick, be careful when it comes to the flywheel, and more specifically, it's balance. I'm not sure if the 360 ever came with a stick. I...

I can only guess that parts would be a problem too? Nice guy or not, you can't buy a trans (or anything) that has such shaky manufacturing.

The idea of an overdriven 5th gear is great. Having faith in a company that takes 16 months to produce is hard to do. I'm not familiar with this trans. Does it have internal parts that are standard to the industry? If not, what happens when you need to rebuild it?

There's been discussion on here about modifying a /6 z bar. I don't remember if it was for a bb or sb, though. Did you search the forum? bigblockdart.com might be the place to find out.

The guy who has it says it's worth "at least $400" to him. I've had a B-Body trans for years. Could never get spit for it. My car's no resto, and I had a 69 Dart years ago that had a b-body trans in it before I bought it as a roller. Maybe I should just use the one I have.

I've always had the best results by "hating" my clutch. Hold it about 3 grand and slip the clutch while giving it more throttle. This works better on a sticky starting line than the street. When done correctly, you'll almost feel the heat from the clutch in your left foot!

There's a special puller that can reach in and grab the bushing. It has to be able to clear the output shaft. I don't know what's needed to install the new one.

If you can do it w/o modifying (and lowering value) anything, why not? You just have to have it in your head that you might have to swap it back to sell it someday. IMHO, stick shifts are the only way to go for "relaxation and enjoyment". :cheers:

Maybe you can duplicate the sound with it running, on jack stands. Get somebody in the drivers seat, while you listen underneath, w/ a "broom stick" stethoscope", if necessary.
