    Driveshaft removal

Thanks guys. I was able to get the drive shaft out tonight. It was dark in the garage last time and I didn't see the small bolts holding the straps on. It came out really easily, surprisingly. Thanks again Now to pull the engine this weekend and get to some paint stripping : )

    Driveshaft removal

Thanks guys. When I get back home over the weekend, I'll climb under there again and see if I can't find the bolts you're referring to. I hope I just missed them.

    Shop to cut axle housing?

Anyone recommend a shop that could cut down a Ford 8.8 axle housing for a 69 dart. I've read up on everything and recently picked one up, but am a little weary of cutting it on my own. I want to make sure the re-weld is straight and square..etc. Has anyone used a specific shop in the SE...

    Trans rebuild shop SE MI

Anyone recommend a good transmission rebuild shop in SE MI? I recently bought a BB 727, and will need it properly gone through. I live in Berkley, MI and would like to find a good shop somewhat near home. Thanks all, Stepper

Can a Ford 8.8 handle a big block?

Anyone know how to tell which ones are limited slip? I'm thinking about using this in a 69 dart, but I'm not that familiar with the Ford 8.8 and how to determine if it's a LSD? Also...is it that the years 95 and later are preferred?

Can a Ford 8.8 handle a big block?

Given the going rate for 8 3/4 rear ends, I'm seriously thinking about the Explorer 8.8 rear end swap. But I have no idea if it would handle my plans for a 400 to 451 stroker build. The car will be mostly street and I may do a strip every now and then, but it's mostly for street and cruising...

    Question about various rear ends

Thanks guys. That's exactly what I was looking for. I wasn't sure what the 3rd member numbers were all about...i.e 489 etc... That helps a lot. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. Mike

    Question about various rear ends

Hoping someone doesn't mind taking a quick minute to help educate me on something. In doing research, it's become apparent to me that the 8 3/4 rear end with sure grip is the most desirable.....and some people even swear by the 8 1/4. What I'm not clear on is the difference between the large...

    At a loss....

I'll save the intricate details. Basically, I'm wondering if you guys can help me ID my transmission now that I don't know what I have. Ignorantly I assumed if there was an automatic mated to a 318 in a 69 dart, it would be a 727. But, I recently got my dart running and found out that it only...

Replacement rear ends for 69 dart?

These are all exactly the information I was looking for. Thanks guys. Again, I know it's been beaten to death, but this is helpful to have it in one spot. Now that I know specifically what to look for....the hunt begins! Thanks again.

Replacement rear ends for 69 dart?

I know this topic is beaten to death. I've actually been researching it here for months. But, some of the details still elude me. Unfortunately, there's a bit of conflicting opinions. And I apologize if this is a ingorantly broad request. I'd like to know which other vehicles' rear ends can...
