    Power steering pump

Yeah, just picked up my power steering box from them today. They can rebuild pumps and gear boxes or sell you the parts to do so. Great people, good luck.

Power steering return line too close to Doug’s

I did find a solution to my power steering return hose problem. I found this Earl’s part #949096ERL. It’s a 90 degree swivel and just have to attach a 3/8” barb. Thanks to all.

Power steering return line too close to Doug’s

l was looking at a banjo fitting, wasn’t sure if it was maybe too restrictive. They do use them on disk brakes, so why not? I need the 5/8x18 thread, your post shows a 5/8x20. Going to a hydraulic hose shop tomorrow. I’m sure these guys can better solve the problem. Thanks

This fitting is spring loaded as well. Is there some sort of check valve in the box?

Power steering return line too close to Doug’s

Checked Holley and many hydraulic hose places plus the parts stores. Have one more place to check here in town tomorrow. I’ve spent hours on the internet trying to find a solution. Just concerned about an engine fire.

Power steering return line too close to Doug’s

Has anyone found a swivel elbow fitting to direct the return hose away from the headers? Believe it’s a 5/8x18 male thread to a 3/8 hose barb. Been looking on line and many parts stores with no luck. It’s a 340 with OEM box and Doug’s headers. Heard the after market boxes are smaller. Thanks

Front sway bar bushings on 72 Demon

Mine was a little rusty so I knocked the rust off and Pour 15’d it. You can brush the Pour 15 on and it lays down smoothly. Good luck

Front sway bar bushings on 72 Demon

Yes, drill the old rubber bushings out in each lower corner and pry out with a straight blade.

Front sway bar bushings on 72 Demon

Got too cocky, make sure the center bend in the middle of bar points upward when putting on brackets. The way I had it there was interference with the bracket from the core support to the K frame. That's ok, I'm not fighting to get those bushings out. Just drill them out and buy new ones from...

Front sway bar bushings on 72 Demon

Did the research from other members and instructions from Energy Supension. It literally took me 15 minutes to do both sides. First put the brackets on the way they came off the bar. Lube up the end eyelet and inside of bushing. Push the bushing over eyelet and on bar. Then lube up the inside...

    Steering column locking mechanism removal

Looks like my floor shift column was taken apart before and not done very well. They even welded the two pieces of steering shaft together instead of just using plastic pins. So much for safety. Got that locking collar off already.

    Steering column locking mechanism removal

Having a problem removing the locking piece on a 72 auto column. I want to use the power steering shaft from the auto to then use on my floor shift column. The floor column just had a pin to remove. The auto must use a different tool. Any ideas would help, thanks in advance. The last photo is...
