I went with TTIs because the 340 I finally got didn't come with exhaust manifolds at all. My choice was paying a small fortune for stock 340 manifolds or paying a small fortune for shorty headers.

They're not painted from the factory because they are supposed to collapse in a wreck and the paint would cause it to bind.

Relevant to the thread title, AMD called me today to tell me fenders for my Duster are back in stock. A whole lot of people believed that would never happen.

I bought a pair from someone on here IIRC and he just wrapped them up in a couple layers of bubble wrap and shipped them. And they traveled just fine. I'd think it would take a blow well beyond anything they could potentially be subjected to in the back of a ups truck to damage them.

Nope. Started this trip in what is now called Greater North Chicagoland and spent the majority of my life about 45 min. north of Madison WI. Put on my exploring shoes back in 2005 (the humidity was killing me) and haven't looked back.

Can't speak for what's happening in China but here supply issues are a problem too. Running out of tuners is a situation and it seems every week we have to hold a line of guitars until we get more in. Plus our production numbers are way up so we go through parts a lot faster than we used to...

We have about that many guitars on backorder right now. The company is doubling the size of the production facilities here to try to catch up. Represents some $6M in unmade guitars.

The issue wasn't just the added weight but the location of the added weight. Crews would load up their extra ammo n the radio room, well aft of the aircraft's center of gravity located near the forward bulkhead of the bomb bay. Pilots who dealt with this (and survived) reported when the aircraft...

There were instances of crews with the 8th AAF who loaded up so much ammo for a mission it upset the aircraft's CG causing the plane to crash on takeoff. Pilots learned to keep a pretty close eye on that, particularly as missions went deeper into Germany.

Love the wheels on that beast. It got real old pushing those things around with little steel casters on it.

Must've gone through nearly a dozen 70-72 Duster parts cars over the years (mostly in the early years); all of them automatics and all of them had that mount. I assumed they made them all the same and never gave it a second thought. What sucked for me is none of them had the ball for the Z-bar...
