Thank you but I have all an aftermarket wiring harness. No bulkhead anymore. I have an amp meter I will place on the headlight wiring to see the amperage per side. If its within spec when they shut off my guess is a bad switch.

What is the coil voltage on a Mopar. I have heard it is 7VDC because of the ballast resister as opposed to GM HEI 12VDC or is that only at start-up? Thanks FABO

Run a hot 12V jumper to the red wire on the column for the signal switch and see if that works. If so then at least you know your wiring for the switch and lights is good. Its just a matter of where the break is then.

Ok sounds good, but you will still need 12V on that red wire on the turn signal switch from the ignition switch. Good luck and let me know if I can help.

You should have 12 volts at the red wire on the signal switch when the ignition switch is in run. If not you either have a break or someone that has hacked into the wiring. There are two or three red wires at the ignition switch. Check them all for voltage when the switch is in the run position...

The turn signals get power through the ignition switch. Check the red wires on the switch inside the column or the connector just outside the column. You may just have a dirty connection or a broken wire. You should have power when you turn the key to run not start. For your purposes teh Duster...

You didnt say what year and model. I believe Allpar.com has wiring schematics for some cars that you can download. See if you can get those and a DVM and start tracing the signals. Google it if Allpar doesn't have it. If its a 68 or 69 Dart I have that one. Does it have the original harness...

You might want to consider deleting the ammeter and replacing it with a volt meter. They are a known source of problems since all the power of your electrical system runs through them. More than one car has been burnt to the ground as a result of these things. Now they are all 50+ years old...

Remember this, always run a ground wire from a trunk mounted battery to the engine directly. Do not use the chassis for your ground cable. Also run at least #1 ga or 1/0. Welding cable should never be used in a car as it does not meet the insulation temp and spec of car wiring. It may be cheaper...

I have the radio on the bench with the bezel removed. I have pulled and pryed so hard I'm surprised something hasn't broken yet. Are they just being stubborn from old age? Thanks for the input.

To prevent voltage drops you should have a separate negative cable run all the way to the engine block. All other grounds should connect to this same stud.
