    New race car

I have a rule on slicks. It matters some what on the number of passes but the date code on the side means more. Old slicks get hard you may not be able to feel it with your hand but your car will figure this out and you will have traction problems. Get the newest you can on slicks. I even ask...

    sad day for chevy

WOW... Does not matter to me what brand it is... That is one nice fast STREET car. Just so it is clear I do not bracket race. I grudge race only now and not much of it any more.

    sad day for chevy

Why is it a sad day for Chevy? That is an all out race car that is fast. There are plenty of other brands that run as fast as that if not faster that are all out race cars.

    Looking for advice/insight on car

You also need a good shock on the rear for caltracs. A single adjusted shock is not going to do it. You need 90/10 o the front and a 10 way on the rear. Start at 50/50 on the rear. My street car on BFG would 1.8 60 foot.. It was a stock small block with a 200 shot on it. Leaving with a 50 shot...

Drag Slick Tubes.....whats the life spand???

Tubes are good to go as long as they hold air... I always run tubes in my cars. If you ever seen a race car spin a rim inside a slick and flip you will want tubes.

Your opinion on equal length spark plug wires?

This will also depend on the ignition system being used. A stock 12v coil vs a MSD setup is a different conversation. Also what the car is being used for? Is a Super Stock car that you need every .10th out of or is it a bracket car or just a street car. A well tuned carb will also change the...

Yes the snell is a snell rating. Do you want the the minimum that meets requirements or would you want the one the exceeds the requirements? You can put a brain bucket on your head if you want.. I prefer to spend the extra money and buy a known quality part and not have to take a chance on...

    Crankcase exhaust ventilation questions

The closer the evac nipple to the head the volume of air that is being pushed by it resulting in more vacuum to pull the pressure out of the motor. Evac nipples past the mufflers probably only pulled 1" of vacuum. You want to pull anywhere from 10 to 17" of vacuum to really work on a motor. I...

Need some advice on slicks for my '67 Notch

I would ask that instead of the largest I would ask what are the smallest that you can put on and it work properly. I would look at a 26 or 28X8 on an 8" wheel. What size tires are on the car now? If the car has a 26" tire onit I would stick with it. Plenty of cars going fast on small tires...

    Stock suspension racers

I would say get an 8.8 out of a late 90's ford explorer. They come with 31 spline axles, posi unit, 3:73 or 4:10 and disk brakes and are almost the same width as a b body and should fit under the dart fine. Use a 15X8 and 6.5 backspace. Youshould be able to get a 275 on it. You can pick up an...
