Need help re. Jeep catalytic converter...

Just did the on-off thing, the only thing that came up was 12, which is the battery disconnected in the last 50 cycles. With the new injectors installed yesterday, I've driven about 50 miles so far, and the gauge hasn't moved yet...so it's looking somewhat promising. My next move will probably...

Need help re. Jeep catalytic converter...

Forgot to mention that also. I did change the air filter as well. I'm going to go to auto zone to see if any codes show up. I just wanted some out of the box ideas for something else that could be the problem.

Need help re. Jeep catalytic converter...

I forgot to mention that...I have already changed both 02 sensors. I drove it from CA to Delaware last year. Check engine light did come on, it was for a bad 02 sensor. Light went out, a year passed and I finally changed it when my mileage dropped.

Need help re. Jeep catalytic converter...

I know there are Jeep forums, but I don't want to go creating another account somewhere else, plus I know all of you have tons of knowledge...so here I am. Here's my issue: My 1996 Jeep Cherokee (4.0, in l6) has been getting absolutely HORRIBLE mileage lately. As soon as I hit 160 miles, the...

Deployed since May, need some advice

Extremely generous offer, thank you! I'm going to be home within the next couple weeks :blob:  :D:occasion: and will be going through my options and see what the best route to take will be. I'll probably end up taking the heads to a machinist and see what the cost would be to get the...

Deployed since May, need some advice

Wow, you all are amazing. I think what I'm going to do first is pull the heads, bring them to a machinist and see what he can do/how much he would charge to get them repaired. I've been tinkering with so many different ideas lately it's been driving me crazy. Other than this issue with the...

Deployed since May, need some advice

I never really know what to say when someone thanks me for my service...it's my honor to serve this contry. Although I don't agree with the war we're fighting or the way the government is being run right now, I still keep doing what I do, and still love it. Sticking epoxy over a fuel leak, or...

How/when did you learn what you know??

Well my first huge lesson was right before I left for Spain in May. Battery kept dying, wanted to fix it before I left so my buddy could drive it around every once in a while. Took battery to autozone, it was holding a charge. Took alternator to autozone, it checked good. I decided to buy a...

How/when did you learn what you know??

@RedFish...they definitely taught you a lot, I've read a ton of your posts and it's just amazing to me how knowledgeable you are. I never hung out at local shops or anything, even though I've always wanted to learn. I just felt like I'd be too invasive. I went to sign up for an auto school...

How/when did you learn what you know??

"We put them in upside down. By the time we got them all in, the crank would not turn. The crank got too damaged, and we had to buy another one" So I'm not the only one that has done something similar?! Good stories so far, I love hearing them. I do have some pride in saying that I have...

How/when did you learn what you know??

I did a quick search, and didn't see any forum for this yet, so here it goes. When did you start working on cars? Who taught you what you know? I'm 28 years old and just started getting into it, and have been feeling quite overwhelmed, to say the least. I've learned a LOT from these forums...

Deployed since May, need some advice

So, I've been on a bit of a hiatus from this site. Back in August my family and I got moved from Georgia to Delaware, bought a house, now we're separated with a pending divorce. Then in May my command decided to deploy me in the middle of the divorce, ever so kindly asking me "Well, can you...

HOLY CRAP! I'm going out there soon. Possibly monday. Is it a business? Do you have to pay to get in? Sorry I didn't respond yesterday, I've been busy trying to set my manifold down. Will he let me pull heads off an engine? I can't believe this! How does one acquire so many vehicles...
