Changing front/rear bumpers on 1975 Dodge Dart

I know this is a farily common mod, but I've found a nice '73 but dont care for those bumpers. Is it a big job to either replace them w/72 styles or even cut the big heavy bar our and bring the original bumper in closer- ie, remove that filler pan. How expensive would it be and is it worth the...

mounting a glass hood scoop on a steel hood

How easy did the scoop bend/conform to that ridge in the center of your hood. My hood is probably a 67 and has two ridges that the hood inserts laid into. Thanks, George

mounting a glass hood scoop on a steel hood

I know many say they always crack if glassed on a steel hood, but what about riveting- is there a method where the rivet head could be countersunk and covered?

    SLOWING down the rust monster..........

Cotton backing may help some, but I'd never have one- they do look good on factory restos but definitely collect moisture under them.

    SLOWING down the rust monster..........

This Corroseal sounds good, but, there are MANY other products out that that at least claim similar results. Anyone have experience w/others? This stuff is about $30 a quarts- which is all I want. Just got a tip that the bubbling area in front of the rear wheel on the rocker is actually not the...

    SLOWING down the rust monster..........

Thanks all. Can anyone tell me of a way to clean out the lower/rear rockers? I dont remember seeing any plugs up top, but considered drilling one in order to clean out and then spray something inside? I do seem to remember that the bottoms of the rockers had pinch welds that would allow some...

    SLOWING down the rust monster..........

I have a fairly rust free '72 Duster but the passenger side lower quarter has some bubbles. This is NOT a show car and I do not want to cut and weld at this time, but again, I was told that if one could seal BOTH sides of the sheet metal that the rust process would slow down due to a lack of...

Do you need door seals- for the door jamb area?

I made one temporarily and it actually looks fine- I found a used one very reasonable from another member, but this will give others an options vs buying a new one for $42 and shipping. I used an old truck inner tube to cut it out and the 3 mounting screws plus some adhesive around the edges...

Help- finally ready to order my 71 Duster stripes

Thanks guys- I ordered directly from Challenger Gary here on FABO. He had everything I wanted except the Duster 340 Cloud emblem that goes ON THE TAIL SHADOW DECAL. Anyone happen to have one?

Help- finally ready to order my 71 Duster stripes

It appears that if using a WHITE Duster 340 stripe that there would be no front fender 'Duster' decals as they would not show up- assuming that they came from the factory like this?

Its been a while since I have ordered stripes and I know venders come and go: what firm is recommended for both COST and quality- which should include decent instructions.

    Minor bubbling on rocker

Thanks, yes, I figure they will be pretty dirty. I may drill a hole up top around the sill plate in order to spray it out and make sure the openings at the bottom allow the gunk to drain.

    Minor bubbling on rocker

Agreed, but as I have tried to say here, I'm not trying to have a show car here- been there and done that. The car is VERY SOLID where it counts (yes, the rockers DO count too), but I do know that sealing the problem areas from Oxygen on BOTH sides will greatly slow down the oxidation process...

    Minor bubbling on rocker

Adamm! Great to hear the Eastwood stuff worked as advertised. It SOUNDED perfect for what I was looking for, now tell me whats the best deal I can get buying that stuff? SIRELAND, yes, I want to make sure the rockers are cleaned out- to prevent any gunk from holding moisture and to make sure...

    Minor bubbling on rocker

Thanks guys, and yes, I've cut out and welded before, and thats the way to go usually. In my case, its not that bad ''yet' and I'm not ready to do anything that serious. I also was not planning on sealing up the rocker area- and hoped the pinch welds did have the openings mentioned so I can...

    Minor bubbling on rocker

My 72 Duster is pretty solid, but not rust free. Its not showy and thats what I wanted this time. Its had some moderate panel patches (lower quarter and taillight panel) and I see some minor bubbles forming on the rockers- mainly just behind the back of the door. My question is that I'd like to...

    Taillights for '72 Duster

UPDATE: I just finished some research on this swap and have decided that I will most likely stay with the 71 tail panel- just too much money and trouble to switch back. With the tail panel shadow stripes, the two lights do not look that much different. I am in the process of buying a '72 had...

What mods can make a '73 Duster Grill look better?

Thanks guys for the pics and ideas............I've had a few Dusters and have considered another- dont want a matching numbers car but something running w/be nice, and, the 73s have the popular wheel pattern w/disks and hopfully the 8.25 rear. That makes it more of an affordable target for me...

What mods can make a '73 Duster Grill look better?

Dont think the Sharkstooth fits with that hood, but has anyone come up with something cool? Guessing one could fit a glass 6 pack style hood and then use the older generation grill?
