Talking with some people about a 318 with an E58 360 cam in it. They claim it will kill the low end torque? My dad used to put the E58 cam in all his 318's because he liked the slight lope at idle. Never thought about it killing the low end?

I completely agree! We only have about 200 miles on the Duster (408). It is a blast to drive! One blip of the throttle will break the tires loose and bring a smile to your face.

Now fighting brake issues so I moved my question over to the brake forum.

Blocked off the booster (and at the manifold). Now when you tap the brakes it does not change the idle. Now I need to find a new/replacement booster. I doubt the cam is large enough to create this issue. It is basically an E58 360 cam.

It was from a parts car. What is the best method on chasing a vacuum leak? It would have to be the carb vacuum lines, the booster or a leak under the dash lines that go to the heater/ac controls, right?

I am guessing it has something to do with vacuum? The car is a stock 318 2bbl and it idles fine until you touch the brakes. Then it idles rough until you let off the brakes. We thought it might have been in the power brake booster, change that it still did it. Put the original booster back...

Anyone know the correct part number for a 71 Dart 318 2bbl carb?

That has been mentioned by the machine shop. I am trying to decide where to spend the money....stroker kit or better heads. I know they go hand in hand but my build (checkbook) will not allow for both. I have a set of J heads to use if needed but might go aluminium if don't go the stroker route.

Do any of the Mopar "speed shops" sell iron heads?? I don't want Magnum style. The only ones I have seen advertised is AeroHead??? Here is a picture of the Dart. Nothing special that is why I don't want to spend a pile of cash on this motor.
