Sounds like unbalanced drive shaft to me. It don't cost much to have it checked at a machine shop.

Sometimes when you warm up the trams to operating temp and let it set for a day or so it frees up.

Correction, it's an 87 truck 727 non lock up. Will the valve body from the truck trans work in the 68 727.

No. I'm sticking with my factory linkage.

My kickdown is hooked up just not adjusted yet. There is pressure on the kickdown lever on the trans.

The trans is mine.Trans is a little over filled but not shooting out the vent. The trans was just rebuilt with a shift kit and new valves in the valve body. It must be shifting into second in drive postion cause when I leave off the gas and if I shift manually to first after going around 25-30...

Don't anyone have a stock setup in there car to determine this? If some one has a stock 340engine and 340 trans. Please go out and see what it stalls at.

It will work. The 4 bolt holes that go through the crossmember are a different size. That's it. You may have to buy 4 other bolts or wollow out the holes. Same location just smaller holes.Mike.

Are these dakota units a direct bolt in or do you have to modify anything else ,but the lugs? I can't believe these work on the older 8 1/4 rears. Interesting thread by the way. Mike

i still have the trans.

i put a 67 transmission in a 73 dart and i had to change the safety neutral switch because the 73 wires has the 3 prong setup. i just swapped around the switch so the wires would work but now my back up lights are on all the time. how can i fix this?thanks,mike.
