back up lights stay on, help please.

i put a 67 transmission in a 73 dart and i had to change the safety neutral switch because the 73 wires has the 3 prong setup. i just swapped around the switch so the wires would work but now my back up lights are on all the time. how can i fix this?thanks,mike.

Somewhere I think I read you cannot "just do that." I believe you have to change a/ some part(s) in the transmission

You still have the 73 trans, same series?

You're lucky if you didn't break something doing that. The switches are different length and don't swap without changing the valve body or at least the rooster comb.
