Why an intermediate piece? Why not just make a one piece housing with the O ring embossed into that so you don't run the risk of two possible places to leak? Can you buy replacement o rings?

My buddy runs an Edelbrock on his 340 formula-s and very rarely has to piss with it compared to my Holley which is very finicky.

Edelbrock probably give you the least problems. Holley's seem to need tuning regularly but I'm sure some will disagree. I actually run a holley 870 street avenger with vacuum secondaries, but it needs tuned, rejetted every time the weather changes.
