School me on 340 exhaust manifolds

Be sure to inspect anything you find very closely. They like to crack in places that are hard to see, especially without having them blasted first. The rust is good at hiding the cracks.

    header question

Here are a couple of pictures from a couple days ago. Too bad you hadn't asked sooner. I could have taken better pictures for you. These are hooker headers, but I'm sure yours are similar. Three tubes go below the drag link, one above. You'll need to knock the joint loose at the drag link...

    exhaust leak at Manifold-TTI 2 1/2 " downpipe

I had a lot of problems with my TTI downpipes on my 340. TTI was absolutely no help. They told me they use a jig, so there's no way that they could have sent me the wrong part. On the driver's side, the pipe was smashed up against the 727, and I had to modify it to make it work. I added a...

NEW 340 manifolds at a reasonable price

I agree with you 100%. Well said.

NEW 340 manifolds at a reasonable price

Some of us just hate headers. I have several reasons. One is that I like the exhaust note from a manifold much better. I had a 71 340 4-speed Demon in the 12s with 68-70 340 manifolds in the early 90s. I miss that car more than any of the others.

    ID headers

They do make headers that fit most car applications, like rumblefish said. And these definitely look like them. Look at all of the applications that the Summit headers fit. They definitely look like the same headers. Without knowing the brand and part number for certain, they will probably...

TTI coated headers for a small block

In my experience, a call to TTI is worthless. I paid a lot of money for one of their exhaust kits in 2006, and when I bolted the headpipe to the stock 340 manifold, it hit the transmission. They claimed I wasn't using it in the correct body type, or I had th wrong manifold. The body type...

TTI's where is best place to buy??

I'm pretty sure that you can get them cheaper through a dealer. I can't remember where I got mine, it's been a few years. Mancini comes to mind.

    ANY nice bolt on exhaust?

I bought a manifold-back system for my Dart with 68-70 340 manifolds from TTI. The driver's side head pipe smashed up against the transmission, and they wouldn't do anything about it. They claimed that there is no way a part could have left their shop wrong, and somehow I changed the...

And I thought TTI's were spendy

Do you guys actually expect brand new, high quality reproduction exhaust manifolds to be cheaper than 40 year old used ones? I own a pair of the reproduction manifolds, and they are MUCH nicer than any of the ten or so sets of used ones I've owned over the years. The last three sets of used...

What are stock 360 exhaust manifolds?

I'm pretty sure those are both truck manifolds. Do you know what they were in?

    Accurate Exhaust Products?

I bought a TTI setup for stock manifolds and it fit like total crap. The driver's side head pipe when bolted to the stock manifold was up against the transmission. I mean SMASHED up against the transmission. Since there's no way the stock 340 manifold/engine/727 could have been "misalligned"...
